Ha, I was just browsing 1up and found this quite amusing:

A street named after Tomb Raider star Lara Croft opened in the United Kingdom this week.

As we previously reported, Lara Croft Way was chosen after winning 89% of the public vote. According to the BBC, the street is part of a larger initiative to improve traffic flow in the region of Derby.

Who knows, maybe we'll be seeing an Eorzea Road or Hydaelyn Avenue at some point in the future?! xD

89% of the public vote? What were the other choices, I wonder?

I would love to see a "Beyond Vana'diel" road/lane/avenue/etc.!

A £36.2 million ring road built in Derby will be called "Lara Croft Way", after a previously-reported public vote saw the Tomb Raider star come top, beating competition from footballer Steve Bloomer, astronomer John Flamsteed and engineer George Sorocold.

I would have picked Lara Croft aswell~ for a fictional character, she sure has accomplished alot.

You mean there's a difference :onion1:

I don't think all of her fame is because of her breasts.. In the original Tomb Raider they were small triangles- though I believe it was due to her aways running into walls that helped rounden out her boobs for Tomb Raider II.

I'm sure I'm the only one that noticed her breasts got bigger with every game and poster :onion21:

It's not easy being a tomb raider you know! I think she deserved having a street named after her.

I loved the first tomb raider game, bad voice and all aside.

Also as well as getting more rounded from running into all those walls I think they must have bruised and swelled up to.

I think Nathan Drake is a much better character though. She become famous for the wrong reasons.

No wonder the public chose Lara Croft Way, look how boring the other names
are!

LOL @ the running in to Walls comment xD That's probably very true!

Saeryne, I agree that she probably got famous for the wrong reason, but still. Look where it's got her lol. Rubbish game installments (Angel of Darkness, I choose you!), rubbish films (Cradle of Life, I liked the first film) AND a road! What's next, her own perfume maybe? "Blood & Sweat --- By Croft. The true stench of Tomb Raiding" :P
