Does anyone have Demon's Souls. Just got it made a thief. My Dad bought myself and him a copy. So if anyone wants to play holler. His PSN is Pathan. Just tell him you know Tindiil when you add him. He knows I am famous on the interwebs.

From the little I have played gotta say this game is ownage. Hard as a @#$@# though.

I have it too but have not really played it, though it does rock. I'm making myself finish FF13 before I dive into it. I think I'm almost there. Posted Image

There's actually an old thread on this, but it's over six months old now:
http://www.beyondvan...2-demons-souls/

Anyway, I'll close the old thread and discussion can continue in this one. ;)

I started it a few days ago. I play a Royal, though I made a Temple Knight just to see how it is to play wearing armour.

I am currently on 3-1 and spend along time playing whilst dead so I can help you with any boss'.

My Dad bought him and myself a copy of the game. It's really cool so far.

My big question...

How do you play online?!? :onion47:

Granted I haven't played much. I just got the game. I am playing Thief right now. It'd be sweet for all of us to play together. Can you use voice chat in game?

Also ty Eor for letting me have my own new thread<3 :onion129:

Online is turned on by default if you are connected to the internet when you first start the game, other people around you appear as ghosts. To play with a friend you need to know their PSN handle and invite them over, I don't know much more then that. ;)

You can not play the game unless PSN is connected - hence your always playing online.

You will see either White Phantoms appear/disappear and/or see writing/runes glowing on the floor. You can touch others blood stains to see how they other player died (However DONT mistake them for Red/Black phantoms as they will attack you on sight.)

Dont forget that if you die you can touch your own blood stain to receive the souls you lost on dying, though if you die before you retrieve them they are lost forever!

You can invite any random people that you see 'advertising' themselves for a summon, this is the Blue writing that appears on the floor.

Or, if you need random help, I recently found out that you can place a message (press SELECT) saying 'You can summon here', then others in ghost form read it and know that if they place a Blue Stone someone is there who can potentially summon them.

You have to be within 10 soul levels to see anyothers writing.

Only form of communication is Gestures (hold down X) - only found this out an hour ago :P)

I still don't know whether to get this game or not. It's only 30 quid now, but still. The game sounds tough, and for someone who gets stressed out on Crash Bandicoot then it's probably best that I stay away from this game!

For those of you that didn't know the Demon's Souls online servers will be going offline in March 2011.

Well that sucks, I better get some gaming time in then while it's still cool and until it's reduced to a single player game.

When the servers go offline the game will still mainly be a single player experience, right? My understanding is that your friends can only come into your game once they have died? So the "online" isn't very online, just...connected. It's good that you can leave messages / read messages that have been left by people, so I can understand why people would miss that feature.

P.S

I may have got the online completely wrong, so would someone like to explain how it does work? ^^

Once they turn off the servers the game will lose it's edge. Saeryne's post ahead says all that's neat about it, this will never be an MMO, but it's still interactive in a way a single player game is not. If the servers die I'm not even sure you'll be able to play with friends either?

Oh yes, I did read that post. I guess I'm just tired so I didn't take it all in properly. I may have to purchase the game before the servers shut next year, just to say that I've played the game and so I can get a full understanding of the workings of the game.

The multiplayer isn't a huge part of Demon's Souls to me. All you can do is invade someone and gank them, be invaded and ganked, or have people help you. Though it is cool, it isn't a huge thing; but the messages you leave will be missed :(. I actually beat the game... if you think its hard the first time through you might want to buy some reinforced walls so you don't punch through themwhen you replay it!
The amount of fun you have with a slinky is proportional to the amount of stairs you have.
Given an escalator, slinkys will give you infinite fun!
