Breaking Bad follows protagonist Walter White (Bryan Cranston), a chemistry teacher who lives in New Mexico with his wife (Anna Gunn) and teenage son (RJ Mitte) who has cerebral palsy. White is diagnosed with Stage III cancer and given a prognosis of two years left to live. With a new sense of fearlessness based on his medical prognosis, and a desire to secure his family's financial security, White chooses to enter a dangerous world of drugs and crime and ascends to power in this world. The series explores how a fatal diagnosis such as White's releases a typical man from the daily concerns and constraints of normal society and follows his transformation from mild family man to a kingpin of the drug trade.
Has anyone else seen this show? What an experience! It's one of the best shows I have seen in quite some time. Very engaging. It offers insight into a world you can barely begin to imagine.
The acting is also top-notch! Especially the actors who play Walter White and Jesse Pinkman. Jesse's character has some moments in season 3 that are so well acted. Really powerful stuff.
Saul Goodman is a lot of fun as well.
This show is so exciting. And interesting!
Please give it a try. You might not get hooked at first, but give it a few episodes and I'm confident you will. It starts a little slow but once it gets going it never lets up. I just watched the season 3 finale and am now eagerly anticipating season 4 (which is still 10 months away
