UPDATE: Yeah! Finally got my key! Its registered cant get onto the beta test site yet but I feel abit better now. I found I had more luck using 'open in new window/tab'. Its weird but.. ?

I basically clicked the link to the test application page and if I timed out, closed the page and clicked the link again until I connected and was brought to the account log on screen. I got to the page where you actually apply for the beta test several times but when I clicked the button at the bottom to actually apply, it did nothing. I used Firefox mostly. I tried IE but it way slower than Firefox. I finally was able to get that button to work and it accepted my application right before they stopped taking anymore. My b/f was totally irked because he is a 22 year fan of this game and didn't get a code, and I've never even played a FF game before.

I've been trying for about 7 hours now....

If it says temporary stopped beta applications, ignore it, it said it on mine and I got mine afterwards.

I mean keep trying

They might have another aplication round in a day or so . I do not think its just the single round.

They want a massive servers test to take place. I'm sure they need to make some adjustments to the servers capacity and will be opening the aplication site soon

Don't worry too much.. I D/C'd and tried to log back in and now I'm stuck DL'ing another or lost (due to the crash) update, and I'm not allowed into the beta site to see if it's a new update or not.

Forgot to mention that with 15 remote and 16 local connections it's stuck at 47% of 1/2 and at 0 b/s ... Awesome

Side note: Most of us couldnt even get a key, be happy you can even create a character.

Don't let these frustrations deter you from the game. Even if you don't get to play open beta the game will be out in less than three weeks now. You can wait a little longer. I probably won't even play open beta to be honest.

Imo the first few files are to be the biggest ones, the actual game so to speak, and the latest files the information to conect to the servers and the updates, just a guess.
