You can get a lot of new equipment by successfully completing Guildleves. Have you been doing them?
There is no AH at the moment, but one will be implemented at some point after the game's launch.
I haven't played open beta yet (too busy updating the site!), but I did play closed beta. There aren't many quests available at the moment because Square Enix doesn't want to spoil too much of the story yet. For the time being, I think the main storyline quests continue (from the same NPC) after every five physical levels that you gain: 1, 5, 10, 15, 20, etc. I could be wrong, though. Perhaps someone else can verify?

Okay thanks! And can the guildleve's be completed solo? And is there any stores to buy [expletive]?

There should be some stores that sell basic starting weapons, crafting equipment, etc.; however, Square Enix really wants players to rely on crafting and other crafters, so I believe the equipment available at vendors is limited.
You might try checking other players' bazaars as well. If they have a little baggie icon by their name you can target them, open the main menu and choose to browse what they have available to sell. Sometimes you can find armor this way.

With the starter weapons, however, it's usually easier to just buy a new one and throw the old one out.

Look around your merchant quarter (or street, wherever it is merchants gather) and find one with armor in the stands, buy a weathered doming hammer from him. Look for one with weapons in the stands, buy a weathered cross-pein hammer. Then head back to your adventurer's guild and pick up a could of crafting leves for armorer and blacksmith. You don't lose anything for failing them, you just don't get experience and materials. So experiment, find out how to strike, when to wait, don't worry about failing, since after all, you are using their materiels.
Also pick up a mining pick so you can get ore, pick up a couple of mining levequests to learn how to do that as well, and get some materials for yourself.
