Just wondering if anyone else has had the same issue... it seems that I can /tell other players but their reply is not getting back to me. I verified this with another friend playing the open beta on my server (Gysahl) but can't verify if it is happening to all players on this server or just me. Am I missing something?

When they reply to you are they use the Ctrl + R command? I had a hard time answering people when i tried to type thier names in. With Ctrl + R it was a lot better. Are you not getting any tells on your end or just no replys?

My friend used a simple /tell Tyria Serene Blah Blah blah to get back to me, and I never recieved the message. We double checked all the obvious things, like spelling, etc... In addition to this we tried various other communication methods i.e. /say /shout /party. To no avail. Now I played around with it a bit today and found that at least in my world, if I had someone on my blacklist (i.e. a gilseller) I couldn't receive communication from anyone in any form, once I unblocked the gilseller from my blacklist, I began seeing tells and other chat.

Odd I know... and this is the only thing I changed, so unless it was a patch update then it seems there is a pretty major but in the blacklist function... at least on my side.

Thank you for your reply... I had left FFXI for several years and had forgotten about Ctrl + R, so your tip is very helpful =)
