Fairy Tail is takes place in a land that revolves around magic. The people of this land get together and form Guilds. Fairy Tail is the name of the guild that the story follows. Main characters include, Lucy, Natsu, Happy, Erza and Gray. They are one of 'Fairy Tail's strongest team'.


I really enjoyed reading the manga for this. I read all that is out so far in about 3 weeks in my spare time. What I really like in this series is the characters. The story isn't too bad either. I really like all the characters and how they are all just completely outrages. I don't think I would be able to pick any particular character as a favorite. my favorite fight would be Natsu vs Zero, that was pretty awesome. In the manga a story arc just ended, most likely my favorite arc so far.


Anyone else read or watch this? I'm not sure where the anime is yet, I just started watching it so it might take awhile to catch up. You got any favorite characters, fight scenes, story arcs, etc?

I'm enjoying it so far but I only began to watch it because it was listed as the #1 Anime on MyAnimeList.com awhile back. Therefore I found it to be a bit over rated but still enjoyable. The current anime arc is the "Battle of Fairy Tail" and Maryjane pulled off some epic moves. The show gets better with each arc so I can't say which one is my favorite.

I've enjoyed Fairy Tail since I first stumbled upon it. I love the large cast of great characters and how they all have magic that sort of matches their personality. I've also really liked the villains so far as well. I really liked the design of that samurai woman in the tower of paradise arc (the one that could slice aything even if it was in a seperate dimention)

This arc that has just ended has been an awesome arc, with great fights (Erza Vs Erza!!!) and some really unexpected twists. I'm happy we have two more characters in the guild (though one was already a member >_>)

With what just happened with 'her' coming back and Mistgun leaving the guild, I think the next arc will revolve around Makarov stepping down as Leader... Since Luxas and Mistgun are now no longer able to become leader and Erza being active and too popular in the series to become the stay-at-the-guild-leader type... With that geezer showing up finally (and briefly) and the fact that the only thing stopping Mirajane from being one of the guilds strongest members has been resolved, Either of these two are now in a position to become leader ~~~ so that's my prediction xD


I really liked the oricion seis arc until the guild started walkin >_> then it just got dull and omg another dragon slayer gasp!

My favourite characters are probably Mistgun, though I kind of liked him less after it was revealed who he was.. But wow! what a way to leave the guild.. It amost brought a tear to my eye =D

Cana is prob my #1 fav.. I want her to be in it more! And Visca aswell!!! something about cowgirls with guns.. ~Mirajane too <3 her fight with fried... that was epic...

I'm not usually one that likes main characters.. or likes them enough to call one a favourite.. and this held true for Erza... but over the run of the series, she has just become a more and more amazing character. at first I felt she was just some overpowered personalityless intimidating woman~~ so as it's delved more into her story, you see that she is just an incredible character... though she is still overpowered xD I mean.. fighting with a sword in each hand... and feet?!

The story has been pretty good I think.. I really want to know whats up with the dragons and lucy's mum... and how old is Natsu >_> and Urtear!!! Gray's masters daughter!! what is she planning!!!!!!

I want to watch the anime, but I don't know where I would find it =[

I made my gf watch it with me and she really loved it, I've read up through the most current chapters... but the most recent arc is kinda meh to me personally.

My favourite arc was definately the Luxas arc where he forces all members of fairy tail to fight each other.. It was great and so much happened. Mirajane~ Mistgun~ Arzak (briefly)~ though I was quite disappointed it didn't show Cana's fight with Fried... When will they let us see her use her magic!It's been stated several times that she is strong but when will we see =[

My second favourite arc would be the phantom lord arc when all of fairy tail fight together after the phantom guild destroy the fairy tail guild... that was a really good arc, and it introduced Lluvia!!! (or Jubia.. however they spell it these days..) I LOVE Lluvia <3

Wow, good responses so far. I had no idea it was so popular, I stumbled across it by accident. When I'm bored I randomly click on a new manga just to see what it's like. I don't do as much as I use to though. So complete accident that I found it.

Val, I can tell by your big post you really like it. So many good parts in the series it's hard to just comment on one. I think that's what makes it such a great series. The Luxas arc was one of the better ones too, lots of action that's for sure. And everyone gets involved. I look forward to watching that part in the anime.

There are so many things to still learn, and Val covered it pretty nicely. The dragons/Lucy's mom, How old is Natsu really? Should be interesting, I can't wait for the next arc!

I've just read the new chapter of the manga (201) and it's just kicked off the new arc! I'm really excited for this arc, it sounds like it will be awesome and I'm sure Cana will get some spotlight since it looks like this has a lot to do with her. I just hope we'll finally get to see her magic. And why is this the first time this Mest guy has been mentioned! (I wonder if he's been on one of those bio pages in the past?) And Fried is back aswell! ~ should be interesting!

Also Im up to episode 10 in the anime. So far it has been quite underwhelming compared to the manga. Like they use the same animation for when they use their magic and they'll do it several times an episode. I'm also not one against filler but.. that mushroom episode was quite bad >_> I'm not bashing the anime, i'll still continue to watch it. but I enjoy the manga much more, which might be why Ive read through it all 3 times xD

I usually put on any Episode 1's that appear on the recently added list on two website I frequent.

I clicked Fairy Tail when it came out, synopsis sounding interesting but there are certain types of drawing style I do not like, so thats the first thing I look for.

After that I stay away from animes with characters in that are/look under 15 as they tend to be boring or to cutesy with their stars and rainbows and soundtrack sang by 5 year olds

I think I watched up to the 4 episode.

Where are you reading it? Chapter 200 just came out 3 days ago where I read it. >.>

I think I made it to episode 3 or so of the anime. Just not enough hours in a day to watch anime. I'm thinking about reading through it again too. Manga is so much better. I've read all of Naruto about 3 or so times as well.
