Since I was/am not able to participate in the beta this time around, I was wondering if anyone had a chance to try Archer out? If you did, how did it play? Easy to get use to and get gear and different arrows? Are their many Archers running around? Just a simple overview on the class would be much appreciated. I get to wait until March to try it out. Yay me.

Archers were popular in Gridania because you could buy the second bow from a merchant instead of having to work your crafting butt off to make one. My brother played it a little and it looked pretty fun, arrows are of course no longer a huge money drain since you get wood and fletching by the truckload from botany.
Just my few thoughts about how it isn't evil on your pocket anymore

The amount of fun you have with a slinky is proportional to the amount of stairs you have.
Given an escalator, slinkys will give you infinite fun!

I was a Ranger in FFXI and intend to resume my character in FFXIV as an Archer, so yes, I did give it a try. It plays very well from what I can see and I'm sure I will enjoy it very much.
I am Goblin.
