Hello, and welcome one and all to -The Honeycomb: Tech Lab- official logo coming soon!

Here in the Comb I'd like to offer any of my computer services to you, my friends of the BV community! Feel free to post any problems with your computers if it seems like a common issue others might have (or just send me a PM if it's too technical). If you're confused or don't know what decision to make, I wanna hear about it! Lemme know what you guys are thinking about.

I will have a change log at the top of the post in chronological order and the rest of the content will be categorized and sorted, as I will be organizing a lot of computer information from all over the site (mostly my work, proper citing will ensue and it will take some time) to sort of make a collective "Honeycomb" of data. If you have something to add I can put in on the main page.

This is here to serve the people of Beyond Vanadiel as a resource, and that's all. All submissions will be reviewed by me and possibly edited by me pending authorization.

Sorry the post hasn't been updated yet, life's been hectic lately. But, there's good news !I did some research lately and it seems that FFXIV is only lacking an SLI profile (like most games) and I found a guide on how to implement SLI!

I ran some benchmarks with Fraps on my dual gtx 460s while playing FFXIV on the absolute highest settings:

Full Screen
1920x1200
16xQ CSAA Multisampling
Buffer Size: Resolution
Shadow Detail: Highest

Ambient Occlusion On
Depth of Field On
Texture Quality: High
Texture Filtering: Highest

Here are the results:

Test1: Right after loading screen finished in Ul'dah running around

Frames, Time (ms), Min, Max, Avg
1140, 60000, 0, 35, 19.000

Test2: After game smooths out, running around in Ul'dah

Frames, Time (ms), Min, Max, Avg
1467, 60000, 0, 35, 24.450

Test3: Highly Populated area

Frames, Time (ms), Min, Max, Avg
1224, 60000, 14, 30, 20.400

I'd also like to mention that at no point did the FPS ever get bad (aside from CPU bottleneck) or choppy. 14 FPS can look smooth, or terrible, depending on how spaced out each frame is within the second, but FFXIV doesn't seem to have that problem.
