I own the entire series of Full Metal Alchemist (in Japanese), but that's about it. And I got them more as a collector's item than anything. I loved the original anime series, so I felt inclined to own the manga as well. In the future, I plan to buy the entire series of Naruto (in Japanese) for the same reason.

How about you? I'm sure many of you have much larger collections.

When I was younger, I bought all the American release of Tenchi Muyo (Toonami had me interested back when it was a relatively new thing). Eventually they put out another Tenchi Muyo series, but I started losing interest, not to mention it took forever for new books to come out.

I don't know what it is with Tenchi and the author wanting to retell the story over and over again with the same characters but different events.

The only other manga I started buying other than this was Kinnikuman Nisei, or Ultimate Muscle here in America.. It's a lot of fun, but the books started coming out later later. There was almost a year separation between two of the more recent releases. Eventually I realized I didn't need to buy them anymore. I have a friend who usually picks them up, so I've been able to read them through him.

I've read a lot more manga than this of course, but I'm done buying manga. Simply waay to expensive. Too bad there aren't manga cafes in the US..

Love Hina 1-14 (Complete)
Kare Kano 1-21 (Complete)
Yotsuba 1-6 (Ongoing)
Azumanga 1-4 (Complete)
Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya 1-3 (Ongoing)

Those are the only ones I've kept up to date with. I have misc of tons of different series to try and test the water, but these were the ones with purchasing. =)

I'm mostly into romance comedys like love hina and negima, but i'm just starting on Nana at the moment whilst I wait for more Negima and Tsubasa Chronicles are released.

Got alot of No1's of mangas just to see what they are like and was bought 1-5 of naruto and 1-6 of yu-gi-oh, but I have to say I don't like them....sorry for any Naruto fans, just my personal likes and dislikes.

mmmmm I have some others that I can not remember the name of at the moment as they are all at my parents house, i'm going back home tomorrow for the night so i'll get the rest of the names that I own I have a big collection, manga and anime are my fav thing (as well as final fantasy) lol

Another Love Hina & Negima fan thats cool hehe have to say never tried Kare Kano or Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, would you say they are along the same lines as love hina please? I do adore romance comedys, thankyou

Nice collection, Quinn! I used to love Love Hina and Chobits back in the day (the anime, though; I never read the manga).

I forgot to mention that I own all five volumes of a Final Fantasy XII manga they have released over here in Japan. I love(d) FFXII, so of course I had to own the manga as well!

You pretty have all the manga that I have, except I don't have complete collections nor do I have the funds to continue them! lol

Anyways, Haruhi anime is great, so if you don't have a preference for anime or manga, definitely check out the anime over the manga (it'll probably make you want to get the manga anyways).

As for Kare Kano, it's more romance than comedy, but it can be funny at times too! I laughed a lot through it, though it's not your usually fan service laughs.

Kare Kano has to be my favorite manga of all time. And that is saying something.

I was in a few dvd/manga/game stores today.. I found a 10 yen bin.. 10yen! .. so I picked up 10 manga and payed just a petty 100yen coin for the lot of them (the equivalent of about a single US dollar)

Used Manga are cheap cheap cheap! They had entire manga collection, like Death Note, for about 10 dollars... ridiculous!


But anyway, let:s see what I ended up getting..... The selection in the discount bin was poor, but there were some decent ones, and some interesting looking ones. I can:t exactly read them, but it will be good practice, especially with the furigana.

Not Manga, but I read Scott Pilgrim recently. It was enjoyable.


After playing through most of Fist of the North Star on PS3, I'm really interested in getting the whole story in it's original form.

Does anyone know how many manga volumes there are and if they're still in print?

Looks like there are 27 volumes of the original manga, plus several shorter spinoffs over the years. Still in print? No idea, it is pretty old (80's).

Looks like there's the base anime, a couple movie versions, some spinoff retelling type things, some live action films, too... It's a world of it's own.

I just want to start with the original comic. Maybe the popularity of the game will dredge up the original scans on the net, or maybe influence someone to republish it.
