Ok, so I thought I'd make this thread so that I could get some answers. Yes, I really am a n00b, and I need a little help so that I know the basic ins and outs ready for launch in...ahem, March / April. I know there are 8 classes that fall in the the Disciples of the Hand category. But...

...what do they do?

For example:

Armourer -> Creates Armour

Blacksmith -> Creates Weapons

Alchemist -> I guess they create potions, healing stuff etc

Culinarian -> Cooks foodstuffs? Can you actually eat them? Does different food grant different abilities?

But what about the others: Carpenter, Leatherworker, Goldsmith and Weaver? Do they create items for specific classes?

Carpenter creates.. anything with wood in.. Conjurer weapons, bows, shoes, (hoping furniture for future housing!). Also the wooden parts for weapons and tools - shafts ect.

Weaver creates anything that involves thread, cloth armour and bow strings. Many of the recipes for Weaver seems to be parts to make the actual armour.

Do not know about the rest, others can go into more details.

Leatherworker deals in leather, animal pelts/hides for shoes, belts, bags, leather clothing/armor/straps, etc.

Goldsmith deals in fine metals (copper/silver/gold/etc), bone and jewels, necklaces, rings, ornaments, staff/wand/weapon/armor jewels/stones.

As far as your questions regarding Culinarian, yes, yes, and yes.

Alchemist makes potions, curatives, poisons (including poison weapons and such), armor dyes, various food ingredients, etc. They can also convert crystals/shards.

Armorer creates metal armor/tools and shields and parts, not all armor.

Blacksmith creates metal weaponry/tools and parts, but not all weaponry.

There's a lot of cross class stuff. Pugilist weapons aren't made by one class, for instance. Bone weapons are made my goldsmith, but poison weapons are made by alchemist, but iron weapons are made by blacksmith. To boot, the vast majority of more complex items take 2-3+ crafts to make entirely from scratch. No one craft really dominates a single product entirely.

Thanks for the replies guys, very informative. I never knew that crafting spanned so many different areas! I'll have to start getting my thinking cap on, and deciding what crafts I'm going to focus on in conjunction with my as of yet unknown Disciple of War Class / Classes.
