DirectX Erroe message when loggin on

Good day to all,
short and simple,

I'm getting an unable to run game due to DirectX error message right after the start up screen. Sooo, what does this mean and what do I do? I tried downloading DirectX latest update but it doesnt seem to be DL completely and gives me another error at the end of Dl.

Please help, I've been playing since release and it giving me problems now! :onion32:

edit: The actual message " Unable to detect DirectX device. THe program has shut down. Please restart Final Fantasy Xiv"

That's the message I get if I play in Full Screen and then ALT+TAB.

Is something else running on your system that's trying to take the focus from FFXIV? Like Gloon said, this is the error received when FFXIV is fullscreen and you Alt+Tab or an Antivirus window pops up and steals the focus, etc.

Nothing is running that I know of, I just did all the nvidia updates, see if that works. But yes, that is why I stop running full screen and now I run it on window.

crossing my fingers hope the updates work!!!
