...The Event! Has anyone else started watching this?
Basically it's new US television drama that started last week (at least in the UK, not sure about anywhere else. I'm scared to look on Wikipedia in case of spoilers!)
The series 'pilot' in a nutshell:

The President is in talks with a group of people (aliens? Human form, but their DNA is different to ours by 1%), and are about to uncover a certain 'Event' that would spread shockwaves across the world. However, there are some people that are against it, and plan to fly a plane in to The Presidents home to stop him from doing so. When the plane was about to hit some sort of portal opened up, and the plane flew through it, thus The President was kept safe. The plane ended up in a desert, and everyone survived. Great, right? Not so much. They were all swiftly murdered, but we don't know who done that yet. One man managed to escape, but he has been framed for a murder that he didn't commit, so he's now a wanted man. He's also being made out to look like he isn't telling the truth about anything that's happened.
I missed out quite a lot there, like characters that were introduced etc. It's pretty hard to explain everything that happened, but what I said was the main part.

I read some reviews about it but i always seem to glance over it when its on in favor of watching "House" and "Lie to Me" on the Fox Network. In the US "The Event" is up against some really redicously tough competition on other networks.
