I really want to jump into it and see the improvements but I don't want to put several days into it and still decide it's too early to really dedicate a lot of time to it... but i STILL WANT TO CHECK IT OUT! =D

It's improved, but I would give it until the end of February or early March, really. The fact is that regardless of the improvements they are making (which are great, don't get me wrong), there simply isn't enough (i.e. hardly any) content to make it worth your time. If you simply wish to grind, initiate leves and participate in behest, then by all means have at it. Personally, I prefer to wait for additional content.

All of the improvements are a definite plus, though. It just needs more time.

It's gonna need time is all. One year and the game should be ok. I don't see them making enough changes within a month or two to really count. There's just not enough content. It is however free to play, so your not really loosing much. If you want to familiarize yourself with the people and the game it's not bad for a month or so. but after that you'll be pretty bored. I'm just waiting, checking back every week until some major patches hit. I drop in occasionally still to suck in the scenery and say hello, but that's about it.

I am doing the same as Bishop. I am checking this website every now and then and thats it.

I have things to do and knowing I have a paid game sat there, I feel like I need to play it when possible to get my monies worth which is holding things back.

So I am giving FF a long break for a few months, especially when you start having to pay, and just relying on single players I can press 'save' and I know it not going change and that I am not going to mis anything by not being on!

I will consider FF when it get good enough to sacrifice that time for.

I'd just play this game while it's free. I would have done so if my computer could run it, but this game is in indefinite free trial mode right now.

Sp rewards are up, but post 21 it still takes a big sp reward hit. cuts sp in half, which is kinda harsh.. Was hoping for better than that but it's "tolerable" I think. Not 100% sure what i feel about it yet, still testing areas. So far I'm not to happy with the sp post 21 but pre 21 it's very nice. Will post back if I find some solid sp mobs for parties that "aren't" coblyns.. XD

Been trying to make a pt for 2 days now. just one decent sized pt to go to hippos and test the sp. There has to be something worth going to now..lol..
They should of given us more sp for post 21 though. People are still trying to do only coblyns and it's killing parties.

SP past R22 is crap.. I just got 189 sp for soloing a red maiden bug at r27 in nanawa..
WTF do they expect us to do, talk our way up in ranks? They made it "stupid" fast for people before that rank and screwed the rest of us.. wtf is wrong with u devs? get it right already! Tired of not having any parties..

I haven't played since the new patch, but 189 SP for soloing a red mob sounds about right to me. It was much lower than that pre-patch, so it's still an improvement, is it not?

It appears the lucky number is like 3-4 pt members, then sp takes a big jump up again. this is encouraging people NOT to solo past r 23. You get much more sp for partying.. very nice!!
I was wrong about sp being screwed again for parties. you just need enough members.

Sounds like it's dying out. A few posts on here are detailing how underpopulated the game is. They could be isolated incidents and there could actually be servers with hustle and bustle but I don't know myself.

There's really no reason not to play this if you can run it, the game is still in an indefinite free to play status and to my knowledge there is no plan to take it off yet.

To be honest, I can't foresee this game lasting much longer. They seem more focused on FFXI, which while it is dying now, it is still doing way better than XIV at the moment. I'm still waiting for the PS3 release, but I doubt that's happening anymore either.

If it's dieing it's because these devs keep wasting time, making these lame patches. They keep screaming "new missions, new missions" but all the "new" missions are, is a bunch of crap. go here kill this, go there kill that, take this here, bring that there.. It's the most basic kind of mission imaginable.. The devs are killing the game.
Also they haven't even begun to add any of these "epic cutscenes" they ranted and rave about when making the game.. All you get is the intro cutscene, your main starting mission CS and a final CS ending the main story mission. The main story mission is garbage btw.. just garbage.. So easy and so lame.. The game is a grind fest, nothing more.. May as well be rappelz still.. I haven't played in a couple weeks and I really don't miss it..
When they actually make some worthwhile changes I might start playing again. It took me only a cpl months to beat like all stories and get 2 rank 50 jobs, as well as kill every NM in the game multiple times.. You can only kill Dodore so much before it gets boring. There's just no where near enough content and the content that exists is boring..Still.. Makes me sad..
