Reports from this week's Famitsu are coming in a bit in advance, and it looks like the magazine has a big exclusive this week: Dark Souls.

Dark Souls is the sequel to Demon's Souls. Sony Computer Entertainment and From Software announced the game as "Project Dark" at the Tokyo Game Show last year but did not provide much in the way of details at the time.--

A 2011 release time frame
Promise of seamless fields which allow you to walk all the way to forts and castles you see in the distance
A high level of difficulty
Cooperative and competitive online play
Overseas release through Namco Bandai

I never played Demon's Souls, as I don't think I'll enjoy the punishing gameplay. If this game is going to have an INCREASED difficulty, like the article states, then count me out! I'd end up smashing my PS3 to bits! Great news for fans of the original, though, and good news for 360 players, too!

Aww come on Kurisu, it's actually not that hard it just takes a lot of dedication {Thought} and precise button pressing is all

I just updated your above post with the trailer from youtube! I have to admit...it does look pretty good. Maybe I will try out Demon's Souls sometime...hmm...

Yes please do try it! Again if the online aspect annoys you the offline is somewhat easier anyway. You just won't have the hits that are sometimes hit or miss depending on who wrote them.

I don't have too much to say, other than Dark Souls is probably the one game I'm excited for this year. There a couple others I'd like to play, but this one has locked my interest... After all, Demon's Souls changed my life.... At least it felt like it did.

That trailer screams "stay away from me if you get stressed out playing games!". Look at all the deaths! I don't think I could cope lol. I'll stick to Uncharted 3 at the end of the year lol.

Kurisu noooo! lol You should get it if you played Monster Hunter this game is nothing. I breezed through Demon's Souls due to Monster Hunter playing. Just takes all your concentration

Ahh.. though the first was a really good game, this looks like it will be so much better xD It looks like the online mode is back~ I wonder if any changes will be made to that system? I do wish there was a couch co-op mode though =[ I'd rather play with IRL friends, I dislike how everythng is aimed at online gaming now...

This game looks beautiful in a dark sort of way, and the enemies look great. Looks like there will be even bigger enemies now~ It looks like it will definately be a great game.

Though saying that~ I doubt I'll get it.. If it was two player, I might consider it..
