I have to say...
...I'm impressed!
I've never played any of the previous Mortal Kombat games, so I didn't know what to expect. The graphics are smooth, the fighting can be simple, but there are plenty of special moves to learn, so you can't simply button mash (well you can, but you will only manage simplistic combos).
The game is also full of BLOOD! Lots and lots of blood. Some of the moves that you can pull off are X-Ray attacks, and the camera zooms in close to the character and does just what the name implies --- you get to see through the character and see all the carnage that the attacks do. Breaking skulls, livers being crushed...etc! One of my characters finishing moves froze the opposing character to the floor, and then ripped the top half of his body off!
In the demo you only get to play one-on-one matches, but the final game will have tag matches, online, and Test Your Skills modes (I'm not really sure what this is...the trailer after you complete the demo seems to suggest mini-games).
I think I may have to ditch Tekken for this game!
