Are you missing FFXIV?

As you all well know the servers have been down for over a week now, due to the tragedy that struck Japan. The servers are due to go live on the 25th, but one question remains: do you want to go back?

  • Do you feel like you have been missing out?
  • Will you continue to show your support towards the game?
  • Does it have that special something to lure you back in?

Out of interest I've created a couple of polls, so feel free to vote, as well as share your reasons for your answers.

Eorzea...awaits?

I logged on today to see how things were going...

I found myself in Camp Tranquil.. and I was the only one there...
I checked the linkshell listing.. and I was the only one on...
At that point I just felt a strong wave of loneliness wash over me.

I decided to make a trek to Gridania to see how things were there. I walked, and on the way I saw a total of 2 people.. one soloing mobs, and the other gathering. In retrospect I probably should have checked Camp Bentbranch, but I ended up bypassing it.

So I arrived in Gridania, and didn't see anyone until I reached the adventurer's guild. Upon arriving, I found only 3 people, 2 of which were AFK with bazaars up. I looked around the nearby paths a bit more, and seeing no one else, I finally logged off.

I saw a total of 5 people, and I was checking what should be hotspots... I can't believe how empty it was...

Wow...

...how dismal :/

Kind of takes the first M out of MMORPG, doesn't it.

I haven't played this game, but it seems doomed. SE need to hurry up and release the PS3 version, but I don't even think that will help too much now.

I have had zero urge to play for a couple of months now. I actually find that I'm much happier without it. I wasn't enjoying myself before; it felt like more of a chore than a fun experience.

I will check it out again if/when the PS3 version and/or an expansion is released. There's just no point right now. What Inaaca experienced is exactly what I would have expected were it me. Everywhere is dead except for Ul'dah and its surrounding areas. At least in FFXI there were still plenty of reasons to go back to the three starting cities. /sigh, FFXI was so good in comparison.

I'm just enjoying my Wii in the meantime, waiting on some PC games (Diablo III, Dungeon Siege III, Guild Wars 2, etc.).

There are still a good amount of people in Ul'dah, but definitely not as much as in FFXI.
