So, I'm very confused about the Jobs that are going to be implemented in to Final Fantasy XIV at some point down the line! I know that Physical levels are due to be abolished and classes are going to have individual levels rather than having ranks. But how will each of the classes work with the armoury system? Surely it will break it?

Nah, think of jobs as focused variants of existing classes. You'll have a Conjurer that can specialize as White Mage, for instance. On one hand the Conjurer is versatile but has no real specific strengths, while on the other hand the White Mage sacrifices versatility in order to gain an advantage in healing magic (which also gives the job a specific niche to fill in a party setting).

The same goes for all existing classes and jobs. As a rule of thumb, classes are the broad versatile roles, while jobs are the specialized variants of these classes. Hope this helps your understanding of what they're going for.

Ah yes, that makes much more sense. Thanks, Inaaca. I was struggling to get my head around that one.
