All staff members are expected to also be helpful and active around the forum in addition to whatever position they maintain. Posting useless threads, SPAM, etc. is not a good precursor to the sort of staff member you will be.

DATABASE MAINTENANCE

Those who are interested in this position will be expected to help maintain our various databases by editing incorrect entries, approving pending entries, adding entries, etc. No coding knowledge is necessary. The only requirements are that you be very dedicated to what you do and pay attention to details (cross-referencing, listing in alphabetical order, etc.). It's a big project, but you will have help.

Please make note of these guidelines.

NEWS WRITER

Those who are interested in this position will be expected to report on all the latest news regarding Final Fantasy XIV and its development. You will be expected to check all of the latest news sources on a daily/semi-daily basis and post anything you find as soon as you find it. You will be expected to cite all sources and, if media is involved, you can simply link to it or upload it somewhere such as ImageShack or Photobucket until I am able to host it on the site.

Relatively strong spelling, punctuation and grammar is required.

ACTIVITY COORDINATOR

Those who are interested in this position will be expected to organize a variety of interactive activities on a weekly/monthly basis (depending on the activity). Such activities may include trivia, riddles, etc. Creativity and punctuality is a must. Feel free to discuss your ideas with me via PM.

GRAPHIC DESIGNER

Those who are interested in this position will be expected to make various news article images, matching staff signatures, etc. You will not be in charge of our site's layout. Applicants must have some quality examples of what they can do. Also note that even if you are very talented you may not be chosen if I don't feel your style complements this site. You are, however, more than welcome to try again after receiving feedback.

FFXI SPECIALIST

Those who are interested in this position will be expected to be active players of Final Fantasy XI, participating in the latest game updates and capable of bringing some life and consistency to our FFXI section. This can be done though the creation of threads, posting about the newest patches/updates, building up our "FFXI Media" section, etc. This may or may not also be a moderating position depending on the individual.

MODERATOR

I have received quite a lot of interest in regard to becoming a moderator for this site, so here's where things currently stand:

For anyone interested in becoming a moderator, you must first become an active member of the community (particularly in the section you wish to moderate, but elsewhere as well). Follow the rules, be respectful, be helpful and do your best to create activity when/where it's needed. If you feel you have done these things you are more than welcome to contact me about a position; however, chances are I will be contacting you.

Even if you meet the criteria above, please don't take it personally if not selected to become a moderator. It doesn't mean you're not a valuable member of the community or that circumstances may not change in the future. Besides, you don't have to be a moderator to contribute and make a difference.

• Please do not contact me if you have no intention of following through.

• When I respond to your PM, please don't wait to get back to me for weeks on end. I expect to hear back from you within a few days, not a few weeks.
