If you know a good site, please post it.

For now, I'll post what I've had up on my browser all day.

http://www.justin.tv/katamari4

It seems to play a selection of older anime such as Sailor Moon, Detective Conan, Dragon Ball Z, and a few shows I'm not familiar with (Maru Chan?, A show I can only describe as an alternate universe Doraemon, with a robotic samurai character in place of Doraemon, and slight visual changes to the already established cast of characters, who now have different names as well.. Ah, also there is this funny show I had never seen about a wacky Police Officer with a thick brow.. Isn't he a Manga character from a long time ago)

Alright, here's the link you want to go to.

This should show all active Japanese language related channels that are live.

And now something else....
I had been casually watching one of these channels while browsing.. It appeared to be a game show or a comedic hour with Japanese funny-men.. Anyway I clicked on it because I recognized one of the men from a drama.

My Japanese isn't so good that I can really follow fluid conversations, but it was fun just hearing these Japanese men go on about something and laugh... maybe make funny faces or weird poses or other funny-guy stuff...
But eventually I realized they had made a sort of game out getting colonoscopies, and with a Doctor displaying the results, ranked the colons based on potential health problems, and then revealed one by one which photos and health rankings belonged to who (of 4 Japanese comedians).. This is BIZARRE! Disturbing. CRAZY! The Doctor was pointing out possible cancers in the photos and x-rays, and these guys are having 'funny reactions' that are displayed in slow motion or in black and white while cracking jokes! We're talking about serious health issues right? Didn't seem like something to take so lightly.. If I was the E ranking guy I would probably have went home and wrote my will while sobbing.

Not long afterward they were participating in a little comedy game not unlike the exploits of Who's Line is it Anyway? where one comedian had to speak for another, who could only show facial expressions.. There was virtually not transition between this and the colonoscopy bit.. As strange and shocking as this is, I think I'd prefer this over American junk tv.. like Real Housewives -_-

Yeah, Japanese television can be really strange at times. Not only strange, but downright absurd (such as the situation you just described). I'm trying to think of some more examples of strange/absurd/awkward things I've seen on TV since being in Japan, but nothing's coming to me at the moment.

Have you watched any Japanese comedy shows? There aren't any subtitles, but the humor is usually evident. Two of the most famous comedy shows are ???????? and ??????. I used to watch ???????? every Wednesday night, but then they moved it to some strange time like Saturday at 7:00 in the evening, so I'm often not home. :-/
