It's official! Final Fantasy XIII will be released in Japan on Deceber 17th, 2009. I actually saw an advertisement for it on YouTube the other day (apparently before it had been officially announced) and was pleasantly surprised.

Although I won't be buying the Japanese version of this game, I like the feeling of knowing that I could if I wanted to.

-Apparently the game will cost 9,240 yen in Japan. Expensive! That's nearly $100.
-The game likely won't see a NA release until 6-8 months later. :-/

Wow.. Games are always so expensive in Japan.

Urgh. Yeh, I hope the internet is kind and doesn't try hard to spoil the game for those who have to wait.. and wait.. and wait.

I also heard this news yesterday, I can't wait for it to come out everywhere else. It would be nice if the Japanese version had subtitles, then I would just import it. Or at least release a demo on PSN, that would be nice.

If only this was the date for Europe and the US :( But still, it's good to know that the Japanese date is set in stone.

As for the 6 - 8 months wait for the rest of us...

...NOOOOOO! I mean, why? The English voices have already been completed. I can't help but feel that this is the 360's doing (porting, compressing etc).
