He's such a cute kid! Look at those cheeks :3

Anyway, Dodge looks way too young to be a playable character. Hope will more than likely be the youngest at fourteen.
So it's more than likely that when Sazh etc have to go off and do whatever they have to do, Dodge will be left in the care of someone else, much like how Marlene was left with Elmyra in FFVII.

You have kind of become our Final Fantasy XIII news guy, haven't you, Kurisu? ;) Thank you for keeping us so up to date with FXIII-related information.
I've read some of the comments about Sazh an Dodge and some people think it's a bit racist and/or narrow-minded of Squenix to give them both afros... as if they think it's the only way to clearly distinguish them as African American people/characters. Is an afro just an afro, or do you think there's some truth behind these claims?
Anyway, Dodge is cute; however, his face still looks kind of Asian. :P

Cute kid. But why is Square so insistent on revealing every last detail of the game before it even releases?
If you wonder why I don't posts in FFXIII threads, it's because I'm trying to be spoiler free.. But Kotaku had his pic on the front page.. Blast you internet!

@Eorzea: I suppose I kind of am at the moment :D No problem!
I've also read some of those comments that you have mentioned. I'm black myself (white / black mixed) and I think those comments are ridiculous. Black people are naturally born with curly hair, which could be grown in to an afro. So surely it would be perfectly "natural" for Sazh and Dodge to have an afro? I do understand where people are coming from, though.
If SE really wanted to they could have given Barret an afro in Advent Children - two years had passed after the original game, which is plenty enough time for hair growth! But no, they gave him corn rows. I believe that shows that they can design a character in whatever way they want to, and shape them to fit the scenario in the best way they can.
@Momotaru: I know what you mean! There was hardly any information a few months ago, and all of a sudden - BOOM. I also try and stay away from spoilers (I don't purposely go searching for the whole story, although I know the gist of it) but when it comes to information on characters, the battle systems etc I can't help myself :3

EDIT: Sorry for the double post, but I've updated the title of the thread. It turns out that the kids name was a mistranslation - he is actually called "Dajh".
