How do you feel about maid cafés (メイドカフェ)? Have you heard of them? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maid_cafe

"In these cafés, waitresses dressed in maid costumes act as servants, and treat customers as masters (and mistresses) in a private home, rather than as café patrons."

They are basically a place to go for anime-loving otaku.

I have never been to one and honestly don't have much interest in going; however, I think it would be a fun(ny) experience and will likely go at least once before leaving Japan.

I think it'd be fun to check out. It's just a themed hang out, right?

It's probably also a fun job for the maids. I get the feeling that despite the cute maid thing, they probably aren't often disrespected or oogled.


But wow, that's a lot of maids! Is this a chain or do that money people really work there??
