I was looking at JapanToday the other day and thought this was interesting:
About one in three Japanese men tend to sit on the toilet seat when urinating at home, according to results of a survey by toilet maker Toto Ltd. The Internet survey conducted in May, covering 500 men in their 20s to 60s whose homes have Western-style toilets, found that 33.4% said they prefer to sit, citing "ease of posture" and "to make cleaning easier" as the main reasons.
The figure was 9.7% higher than in Totos last survey in 2004. Takuji Yano of Toto's public relations department said, "It seems that people are tending to be more conscious about the bathrooms in their home, such as equipping washlet attachments to the toilet and trying to keep them cleaner."
Granted the survey size was very small, but I found it interesting nonetheless. Is this more common around the world than I thought, or is it particularly higher in Japan for some reason?
Thoughts?

The initial thought I'm sure we all quickly think is "what a bunch of pansies" .. But you know, keeping the stream under control may seem easy enough, but minute spraying is almost unavoidable.
Maybe they have the right idea after all.

I think the only time the thought to sit down and urinate would cross my mind is if it was in the middle of the night and I didn't want to turn on the lights while making my way to (and using) the toilet. It would help prevent unnecessary trajectory errors, no? Hmm...
:msnconfused:
Then again, I am a guy. Perhaps calculating the ideal angle by ear would be best.

It's a lot easier if you just open the shower door and just let her soar. Hands off of course.
haha, I'll only do that if I'm about to step into the shower though.
Yeh, I apologize for that.
