One problem I run into which can be seen in my works are the lines. What is the best way to go about cleaning up your sketch lines to make the outlines look more whole? In some of the ones I've posted in the User Creations section, I duplicate the outline and it looks thicker, but still sketchy. Is it just one of those things that needs a steady hand?

My hand is off the Richter scale when drawing. To overcome the shaky factor, just rough in those lines 5 or 10 times over until you have a big, ugly thick one that meets some vague satisfaction toward your design. Then take the eraser and shave it down to something of your liking. The result is a vivid, strong 'line' that looks almost like vector art.

Are you using Photoshop?

If you have a steadier hand while tracing, one option is to create a second layer on top of your first drawing and trace it to try and get a smoother line. After than you can just hide the original layer.

This is especially helpful if you have a sketchy drawing style that's hard to clean up.

I use this method a lot since my drawings usually start out really rough and dirty. It helps to have a light rough drawing to go over and keep your final lines much cleaner.

Keep drawing Hugbees! Looking forward to seeing some more comics from you. :onion15:

I plan to start very soon. I'm thinking of drawing something this weekend. I've been a little busy with other activities lately and I really do need to get back into drawing again.
