If you have a steadier hand while tracing, one option is to create a second layer on top of your first drawing and trace it to try and get a smoother line. After than you can just hide the original layer.
This is especially helpful if you have a sketchy drawing style that's hard to clean up.

I use this method a lot since my drawings usually start out really rough and dirty. It helps to have a light rough drawing to go over and keep your final lines much cleaner.
