What games are you looking forward to?

Heavy Rain
The game releases in the UK in 3 days time, the 26th February! I'm very excited about this, as the demo was actually amazing!
Final Fantasy XIII
Releases on the 9th March, which is exactly 2 weeks from today! Super, super hyped for this. Been looking forward to it ever since the first trailer was shown 4 / 5 years ago. The battle system looks really good, and the story seems solid too.
God of War III
After playing through the Collection I am ready to start God of War III. However, it releases a few weeks after FFXIII, so I probably won't buy it until I complete that game.

Final Fantasy XIII - I mean who is not looking forward to it, playing this game on a HD tv is going to be amazing, i'm just amazed at the pure beauty of the graphics
White Knight Chronicles - Huge Character Customizing Secion, not sure if i'm going to like the battle system at all but just because of the Character Customizing Section this is the reason i've preorded it and so syched over it

But from here on out I am indefinitely no longer buying video games..... Even if I get a lame part time job, it's not worth dropping 60 big ones. I still have games I haven't beat.. and can keep playing online with games I currently own.

Uncharted 2: Among Thieves
Tekken 6
God of War Collection
Heavy Rain
Final Fantasy XIII
God of War III
^So those were the games that I was looking forward to, and I bought and completed them all, apart from God of War III.I did buy it but I got stuck and stopped playing. I left it so long that I've started playing again from the beginning (the first God of War). I enjoyed all of the games. The last game in 2010 that I played and completed was Enslaved, and that was short but sweet!
Now it's all about 2011 and I'm looking forward to:
- Mass Effect 2
- Team ICO Collection (Shadow of the Colossus and ICO)
- The Last Guardian
- L.A Noire
- Tomb Raider
- Maybe FFXIV
- Sorcery
- Motorstorm: Apocalypse
That's quite a few games :/ I think I'm going to have to start using some sort of rental service, like LOVEFiLM. For £10.99 a month you can take 1 disc out at a time, for an unlimited amount of time. But then again, I like having games to keep! But then a lot of games don't have much replay value, e.g Enslaved, which I completed in about 7 hours! Not worth paying £40 for that.

That said, I'm looking forward to the other FFXIII games (at least one is 2011 right?), Hyperdimension Neptunia, and Ar Telonico Qoga. That Catherine game from the other thread looked interesting as well, but I'm not sure its one I'd want to buy.

Half Life 2: Episode 3
Portal 2
Mass Effect 3
The Last Guardian
I don't buy as many games as I used to due to time restraints and such, but there are still those select few games that I simply cannot pass up.

The Last Guardian
Final Fantasy XIV
3DS
10 years ago, I used to have a never ending stream of titles I simply had to have.. these days, it either takes more to capture my interest or the games are just getting less inspired.
Oh, I guess I'm looking to buy Ni no Kuni for PS3, but that could be almost 2 years away for a North American release.

Completely understand this feeling. For me, it's a combination of a few things. First, there's the obvious: I'm older, been playing games for many years, and most new games seem like sequels and clones with the same gameplay and character, but better graphics. Which leads to my next 2 points. With better hardware capabilities, developers are increasingly fond of adding many cutscenes to their games. I like cutscenes, but sometimes it feels more like watching a 30 hr movie rather than playing a game. Also, as the graphics get better and more realistic, games just lose the fantasy world feel. There isn't anything left to the imagination, because everything can be shown perfectly.
I think this is one reason I generally love Nippon Ichi titles. In many ways they feel like throwbacks to the 16 and 32 bit gaming eras, when I enjoyed gaming the most, but without the drawbacks of actually playing through those old games for the 4th or 5th time.
