though my first char was from Lastok, I didn't like it too much. After creating my char in Sandy, I felt a lot more in place and was easy for me to navigate.
That and we got to punch bunnies in the face through the first few levels.

Is there an official site with nation statistics for each server and/or all servers together?

I personally did not like Bastok too much, and Windy is way too huge and I'd get lost easily. Why did Tarus & Mithras need all that space for anyway?

Bastoks outpost was so far away from the actual city and the city itself had a pretty ugly design. Not to mention they were always in last place in the standings so getting all of the outpost teleports was nearly impossible. Sandorias music was awful (but Ronfaure was one of my favorite.) The medieval theme was excellent but I didn't like the Elvaan race at all. They looked like monkeys and the whole "We are awesome because we have pride" didn't really flow well with me.

I had both my main characters and mules from San d'Oria for the simple fact, it was smaller then windy and bastok to run around in also it was closet to the dreaded dunes to just run across La Theine Platau (can't spell it & never could )....also it was easier to dual box myself to get my mules to jeuno XD

I enjoyed windy for it's nice scenery and appeal. However, Sandoria had the closet outpost.
Bastok had the furthest, and was the only area that required you to run through two areas to get to the upper tier.
In my opinion, I feel that over all people favored all the cities rather evenly, however slowly people went to Sandy more and more because of the fact that it was winning more.
I also think it was because... Windy and Sandy had more of a fantasy feel and more of a... full scenery. Bastok was more barren and modern. So it wasn't the first pick.

Towards the end of my XI career (long after getting Rank 10 Bastok), I switched to Sandy to see all of the story through rank 10, and planned to switch to Windy afterward to get to 10 and stay there permanently. However, I only got a few ranks up in Sandy before I finally made the decision to quit. Ah well.
