Just curious who, if anyone, is importing (or plans on importing) the Japanese version of Final Fantasy XIII.

Unfortunately I do not know the Japanese language, therefore I will not be importing this game. I seem to see a lot of people online who don't know Japanese either, but are still importing. Apparently they will get through the game via online walkthroughs. Umm...that's just silly, and will take away from the overall experience of the game.

*sigh*

If the Japanese version had the option for English menus and subtitles I would import in a heartbeat.

In a FF game, it's important that I be able to follow the story.. so I'm going to have to wait for the English version.. though I'm reluctant do get that too for the US popstar theme.. ugh. It should be noted that I haven't heard either version of the theme song though.

I needn't import; I can buy it at just about any store near my apartment. ;) I won't, though, because although I would understand most of the spoken dialogue I would struggle to make it through anything text-based (which will likely be 90% of the game). The experience of Final Fantasy is very important and I don't want that to be compromised by language barriers and/or having to look at online walkthroughs for everything.

After listening to Leona Lewis' song again I think it may actually fit in well!

As for Eorzea importing...he is currently living in Japan! I don't think his level of knowledge of the language is up to scratch enough to buy the game, though. At least that's the impression I have.

What the hell, these aren't even the same songs?? I thought they just had a different vocalist and slightly different arrangement. BS. No thank you. The Japanese version is at least in line with what Final Fantasy always does.

Will you be able to buy the North American version within Japan? I imagine so.. That makes me wonder where it will be produced. Why not print the North American version in the US or Canada?.. Ah, because they all ship out of China anyway, don't they. :msnarrogant:

about the theme songs... theres nothing about the japaneese one that bores me slightly, and I agree that Leona Lewis is not what I was expecting... I don't think that style of song really fits the genre... But I think its stupid to say that the song doesn't fit the game just yet... We've never played it... after completing it we all might say either, "wow, they did make a good choice after all" of even ... "it did seem a little out of place at parts, but... it wasn't as terribly placed as I innicially thought"


It could be a lot worse... It could be a miley cyrus song... (though I do love 'The Climb' <3)

i wont be importing either but a friend of mine is, soooooo i guess ill be just too temped not to see a small fraction of it before it comes out lol
