Okay, so I had seen a few of them, but there were also several buried within that I had never had the pleasure to study!

There's some interesting stuff in these pics, and I thought maybe there are matters we must discuss!


First, I want to get this out of the way:




So I had at least seen the former image as a background on the official site.... And brushed it away as just another lame CG pic.. The second one I'm confident is an in-game shot, so I studied the former and realized that this, too, is an in game shot! Amazing! These graphics! In this case, these images are depicting the start of a startling battle against what I assume is a summon beast you need to earn the favor of for a plot related mission.


Next, is an image we've all seen, but I also never examined very closely:



My first thought was 'Green flesh? Female Roegadyn!!... But she's obviously an Elezen, of evil flavor. I believe we'll be given the option to have dark skin without choosing to have a dark heart, but I wonder if the centered Elezen is also of the 'Duskwight' origin.

Oh, and isn't that just the cutest darn thing? That little fellow back there.. The CUTE LITLE FELLOW RIGHT THAR!! Any wavering I may have subconsciously made concerning race selection has been destroyed.. I will be Lalafell!

Then there's that stoned fellow and his boring looking friend.


Here's a light observation. These beastly fellows sure remind me of something:

I'm loving them.. And not at all in a McDonald's way! (.. McDonald's truly disgusts me in every regard, but I digress..)

Oh, and look! ANother CYOOT WITTLE FELLAH!!! I CAN BARELY CONTAIN MYSELF!
Lalafell are adorable! It's not an opinion, anymore. He's a little guy.. so he's wearing a little hat.. And a little robe... Cause.. Because he's so ... tiny!


These ants are very cool! I'm really liking these cavern environments too.. Can't wait to go spelunking!



Oh.. and... hehe... well.. you see..... Hehee! ... There's another TINY little guy!. He's trying so hard, but because he's tiny, ... well, his tininess probably doesn't factor into anything at all... other than his wee little tiny cute appearance

.. And we get a good shot of a female Pugilist not afraid to show a little cleavage.
Provocative, but she can take care of herself, though I'd be willing to do that for her.

haha, the commentary made me giggle. I have the picture of the galka concept art in my signature.

I really love the pictures more then the info we have, in terms of... people really haven't looked to this mobs as closely as I would have excepted. Some of the back round scene for the ants is reminiscent of various caves from FFXI, especially zehrun mines, and oldton movapolos. Where as the crabs really remind me of the sea serpent grotto area.

The thing with Ifrit, which I mean come on thats totally ifrit. Concerns me, right now we have leviathan and ifrit both of which are very large, to large to be summonable. Hmm...

As for the more orc'ish looking mobs, I believe we are seeing the first of the beastmen like classes.

I still think we can't speculate much... however SE has given us more info then we realize we're just missing the key components.

They're definitely summons, like you say.

But a summoner class probably doesn't exist. I believe it was stated in an interview that summon beasts exist in the game, but serve story related purposes.

You probably go around, gathering their aid, and in specific battles, they automatically come out and give you a hand.... is what I assume.
