So sony says that you should not use your ps3 for 24 hours... Most all of the gaming community is really upset and wants compensation and a whole other bunch of stuff for 24 hours. For all of you out in ps3 world. Take the next 24 hours to rebuild relationships to friends and family lost due to you not having time for them over your ps 3 buddies/ take time to get some real life exersize/ cook dinner for your wife and kids/ for Yourself take a shower and actually enjoy life/ for goodness sakes read a good book/ Its not the end of the world and you can do alot of things besides stick your face into a game. Dont get me wrong i am guilty of playing games alot i own all systems. I also tho take time every day for my family and for friends. I hold down a full time job and love to read. I think this 24 hour break is only a blessing from the lord. Lets take this time to reflect not spend all 24 QQ about it.

True...

Alot of people seem to have forgotten that it's possible to play games without an internet connection... People crying about it really need to belt up and wait a short 16 hours (because you should really get away from the tv and get a good 8 hours sleep..) it will most likely be on in the morning so... get over it...

though it's easy for me to say this as I never play games online (unless mini talks me into a match of tekken) and also have a healthy social life out side of my home (work and social..) I still cant unerstand the mentality of some people..

Ive seen some of the comments on the PS3.com forums aswell as several videos on youtube... Compensation? for want? they've had an error and they are trying to fix it...

All the alternative activities FR8 suggested I agree with... some people need to get a life/friends/job and not start raging when a console systems online capabilities has an error and is unavailable for 24 hours...

What was the point of this thread again sorry? xD PSN is down? ~~~~ Shame..

It was not just online gaming that went down. PS3 stopper working in general, as in it didn't load any games. This happened to ALL phat PS3's, due to a glitch with the internal calender. The system said it was the 29th February...that date doesn't exist this month, as it's not a leap year. Due to the problem with the time and date the PS3 was unable to function properly. NONE of my games would work. Not any of my disc based games OR downloaded games.

Once it hit midnight tonight though the glitch fixed itself.

My trophies haven't been affected! Still have them all. I was sooo worried that my PS3 was going to stop working for good, but luckily this was only for a few hours! If it bricked the week before FFXIII was due I think I may have actually cried!!! But now it's back to normal. Who would have thought a glitch with the calender would have caused so much trouble?!

Ever heard of the millennium bug :onion116: (i know that it came to nothing but that was due to the calender aswell)

by phat... do you mean the bulky older models of the PS3?

I apologise for my earlier post.. I guess I wasn't in the know... I though it was only the PSN that had stopped working because I have been playing Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm for a good portion of the day~~ I didn't realise the consoles of other people were not functioning... its strange aswell, because I wasn't going to play it today cause i had a load of washing to do (which I accomplished in doing) and most people I hang around with are working today so I had nothing better to do than PS3+B&J's Phish Food...

Maybe I have set my calender on my ps3 wrong xD I know my internet connection has been on the fritz... thats why I thought I couldn't sign into PSN at first xD then I saw all the complaints... I only breezed over them cause I was watching glee ( <3) so I must have missed that vital info...

Oh well, at least its up now ~~ Happy 1st of March! (does this mean the PS3 will miss the leap year that happens in 2012? assuming we are not all dead then..?)

I was worried because the PS3 cost £425 at launch! My first PS3 got the Yellow Light of Death, and I certainly wouldn't have been happy if this one broke, too. I mean, I have no warranty anymore as it was used up after the first brick.
