Just a little something for fun! :D

The alpha/beta invites can be distributed as you see fit!

How do you go about it?

I choose length of time on FFXI and if they are still active. However, I would also like to incorporate other possibilities. I would want 50% of FFXI veterans, and 50% of people who have never played. To get a nice mix of people who know what they like from an FF game, and people who would be able to point out new aspects of the game to help 'prime' the game towards a more hardcore and casual play style in a way that isn't similar to WoW in it's level of... well... general appeal and lack of... consistency.

I voted Other.

Alpha tickets should be distributed to hardcore veterans.... Beta tickets should be distributed to the kind of heart. :msnpleased:

I'm also open to the idea of sticking beta tickets in chocolate bars.

i voted other...if you p layed FF11 you may want it to be more like FF11 instead of a new FF14 and i would ask for people with more EXP in betas and are willing not to judge game based on the type but just test it. its mechanics and whatever else so that way it got a good start!

Brilliant!!!

I think "Other" should have been my vote, but I voted for FFXI time regardless of active...

In hindsight I agree with TempestKin that it would be really beneficial to have players who have never played a FF game involved in Beta. If they want to test the playability for new players (and isn't that a big part of the point?) they need people who aren't familiar with FF games! -_-

i think alpha should have mainly FFXI veterans cause theyre more experienced in the playstile and know a bit more about this kind of games. Also i could bet on this but many FFXI players would like to play FFXIV asap so having em test the alpha to fix all the issues could work realy good, considering most veterans are really hardcore players.

For beta test i would have not only veterans but also experienced beta testers and casual gamers. Well it all depends on where SE is aiming at as player targets.

I said Computer Specs, even though I will be getting the PS3 version I feel it's important to test all different ranges of machines to see what works and what doesn't, you can have the greatest game ever but if no one can run it what's the point? :P

I voted other, and I'd vote for it again now that I've read the chocolate bar idea.

But I agree that Alpha should be given to the hardcore. Players that have been playing since the beginning.

However, for the Beta, I think they should just pick me. Well, for the PS3 Beta anyways. lol. Or more realistically, pick the Beta randomly, maybe excluding some who's computers can't handle it. But random for Beta, is my choice, gives me the better chances too.
