I have to agree with the opinion of some on this thread I don’t really like the two casters. (more so compared to the melee classes being amazing) the melee lasses have a set focus that allows them to do different roles like the gladiators are skilled shield + sword fighting style which allows them to be a striker and defender. The thaumaturge is like a blue mage but with everything hp mp stats, it could be good but the post shows only one spell that might be a damaging attack. The conjure bothers me because it is 2-3 classes in one and they only have shown two magic classes. I hope the release has more magic classes and we get more info on these two soon.

I'm sure there will be more magic disciplines, so I wouldn't worry too much.

The VanaFest trailer said something along the lines of "Let's give our Bard something to sing about," so I think it's a pretty safe assumption that Bards will be making an appearance. Though they aren't really a "magic" discipline, my point is that I don't think we've seen everything yet. Far from it! :D

I think there's something magical about songs that give you great strength! :onion95:

true and i hope bard is in it. i use to work with someone who would say anytime someone mentioned WoW;
"Its not an MMO unless there is a bard."
and i think that is a very true statment you need a heavy support focused role.

These images are wonderful! Thanks for the update.

I'm really digging the battle diagrams... especially this one...

Posted Image

...it really gives us an idea of how we will be expected to position ourselves during battle.

I agree, I like this diagram a lot. Although I like to party in smaller groups, this still gives it a good party aspect feeling. Although, A part of 2 or 3 seems to be up my alley. Since I'm planning on being a long distance discipline (Archer for now unless some sort of gunman class is announced) it would be nice to play with one of the close range, or fighter class and one mid-range magic class. I know, I'm a coward, but at least that's one less person to heal. :P

Ch1efer... that's why I play ranged classes. I don't like being in the middle of the frey, I like being the one on the outside dealing the damage.

I really think from more of the AoE stuff, we're going to see more fights against 2-3 monsters. I really like how FFXIV's party dynamic's are shaping up, especially if mobs are going to be roaming together in party like settings. They had one area in FFXI where the mobs worked as a team, and it was fun to try and work with that.

I really liked some of the gear, and just the over all feel of the game is looking nice. :) Just really pumped for this game each time they add more info.

I might focus on being a Miner, just so I could find リトルワーム! Hehe, he's so cute!
I want a whole box of them!.. and a second, back up, box, in case something were to happen to the first! ^_^

From the new info, I'm liking Lancer and Marauder more than I would have imagined..
At the same time, Miner just seems like a man's job.. I wanna get dirty and work it!

Ah.. it all looks like so much fun!

Here come the high quality full-page magazine scans from Weekly Famitsu!

These are in even higher quality than all previous magazine scans, too! The height on all previous scans was 1200 pixels, but the height on these is 2000 pixels.

Enjoy! :D

Gladiator - Paladin without White Magic

Lancer - Dark Knight with a Polearm and no Black Magic

Marauder - Warrior without Provoke

Pugilist - Thief with claws and Provoke

Archer - Ranger

Conjurer - Black Mage AND White Mage. :onion105:

Thaumatuge - No real FFXI counterpart. Seems more like a mage devoted to Darkness. Abilities which sacrifice HP, no elemental nukes, Corpse Aspir, Drain, Gravity. A Dark Knight devoted to magic, or a Black Mage devoted to darkness would be the closest FFXi counterpart.

Conjurer is really throwing a lot of people for a spin.. It's.. IMPOSSIBLE... like nothing we've ever seen before... AAUUGH!

Thanks, Eorzea, for the awesome scans! It's too bad Rikaichan can't quickly translate that for us.... Or... can it? Haha, well not quickly... Hm..... No..no.. It wouldn't be so simple.

There is just so much exciting news I don't know what to think of it all. It's a complete twist... D:

Anyone else notice how... the Conjurer's and Thaumatuge's "magic" was listed as a weaponskill?

It definitely shows that how we used certain things is going to be different. It also means a weaponskill is going to be a lot different from what it was in FFXI.

Does it also mean we'll have to learn the skills from a certain weapon, similar to tactic's like we've been speculating? Does it also mean we'll have lost MP all together? I'm really wondering how they are working party dynamic's... It seems it's going to be a lot more different as they've been saying, but nothing like I imagined...

I really like how they are mixing things up. I am glad that the classes are just the run of hte mill FF stuff but they are throwing in new spells and abilities that have not been in the FF world before. I think it will keep things fresh. I just hope things wont be to out of balance when the game first comes out, but that is part of playing a MMO there is always a need for constant balancing. who knows maybe i will even decided to be a magic user as it seems they are really making changes in that area!

An update on Dengeki PlayStation:

I should be able to grab a copy later today and have the scans up within the next 16 hours or so. Look forward to it!
