Oops, forgot Blacksmith:

BLACKSMITH
Disciples of War

Metallurgical Artistry

It is in the fires and on the anvils of Eorzea's blacksmiths that weapons and tools of metal are crafted. Their work is in demand at all times in nearly every locations, whether it be hammering the blade of a sword at the forge, or whetting the edge of an axe at camp.

The tradition itself stretches back to the realm's Age of Bronze, though the advanced metallurgical techniques passed on from master to apprentice today bear little resemblance to the simple practices of ancient times. The relatively recent birth of firearms has created an entirely new area of expertise which is being adopted with fervor by many ambitious members of the guild. The primary tool of the blacksmith is the cross-pein hammer.

Role

Blacksmithing techniques are capable of weakening enemies constructed of metal, as well as discovering loot that would otherwise be overlooked by the untrained eye.

Blacksmiths provide an edge to themselves and others by ensuring that weapons are always kept in optimal condition.

I like the sounds of this. They keep hinting at firearms, but we have yet to see anything announced. Oh well. I can't complain, I suppose. They did just give us a bunch of info. I can wait a bit longer for some more.

OK, I should be able to pick up Dengeki PlayStation today after work.

Here's hoping! ^_^

On another note, it turns out there are some discrepancies between the English and Japanese information that has been released so far.

Archer Ability "Replenish":
[J] Use up all of your arrows to be able to fire off multiple arrows at once.
[E] Consume MP to replenish your projectiles to capacity.

Marauder Ability "Murderous Intent":
[J] Increases critical hit rate.
[E] Increases critical hit rate, reducing TP generation.

Marauder Ability "Defender":
[J] Increases defense.
[E] Increases defense. Increases enmity generation while in steadfast stance.

Marauder Ability "Disorient":
[J] Reduce the target’s evasion.
[E] Reduce the target’s evasion. Effect may stack up to three times.

Marauder Ability "Enduring March":
[J] Able to move at slow speed while bound.
[E] Enables movement at reduced speed while bound. While active, also maintains steadfast stance while moving.

Pugilist Ability "Blindside":
[J] Attack the enemy for a large amount of damage when you attack from behind.
[E] Strike from an enemy’s rear, increasing attack power by half of your dexterity.

Pugilist Ability "Steal":
[J] Steal from the enemy.
[E] Steal a random item. Chance of success increases with stealth.

Pugilist Weapon Skill "Victimize":
[J] Critical hit rate increases with successive attacks.
[E] Increases your critical hit rate for each enfeebling effect on the target.

Conjurer Ability "Profundity":
[J] Increase magic potency but increase casting time.
[E] Lengthens cast and recast times and increases the magic potency of your next cast.

Conjurer Ability "Spiritbind":
[J] Bind yourself and reduce MP costs.
[E] Bind yourself and reduce MP consumption by half.

Thaumaturge Spell "Sacrifice":
[J] Sacrifice your own HP to give HP to an ally.
[E] Consumes HP to restore a portion of the target’s HP.

Thaumaturge Spell "Siphon TP":
[J] This spell is not mentioned yet.
[E] Transfers TP from the target to you

Thaumaturge Spell "Siphon Magi" (official English name unknown):
[J] Transfer MP from an enemy you have defeated to yourself.
[E] This spell is not mentioned on the official site.
(The developer interview in Dengeki PlayStation includes a comment about draining MP and what happens with enemies that have no MP so we know this isn’t just a misprint from MP to TP).

Blacksmith Craftable Item "Halberd":
[J] Not mentioned.
[E] Requires Halberd Head, Spear Shaft, Halberd Butt, Spear Clasp, Grip Wrapping

Very nice scans as always! I wonder when American magazines will start talking about this game?

Just a small note:

Hiromichi Tanaka stated on his Twitter account that the site's new background music is NOT the battle theme, but one of the songs used when initiating a Guildleve.

Sounds epic, I wonder what the Battle Theme will be. I can't remember if there is one already or not.

In the "leaked" information yesterday it was mentioned that parties generally consist of six to eight people, but that forming alliances is possible. I don't have the magazine(s) in front of me yet, so I can't confirm nor deny this statement.

I looked through the rest of this thread and never saw it mentioned, so I made an account to respond. They did say in an interview that a party's limit is 15 people. I don't remember where I watched the interview but what was said is they didn't want to limit players, so they gave them a big number to work with. They also said that groups would work just fine with 3 or 6 people, it mainly depends on what you want to do.

If this was mentioned somewhere else on the site, sorry for reposting. If wanted, I can look for the interview and post it here, though I think it came out a while back and is probably old news by now.

Hello, Sanura! Welcome to the site.

I believe the interview you're speaking of has already been posted here. That information was released after this article was initially posted. ;)

Thanks for taking the time and making the effort to inform us, though. Feel free to stick around and enjoy some more conversation.

Wow, I always play a caster in any MMO I play and was thinking of maybe changing that habit with this game but it seems with this info I'll have even more to look forward to than usual. Casting on the go? AWESOME! Everything sounds great. More intricate battle systems and class use. I think I'm already in love.
