{Hello!}
{Nice to meet you.}
Those of you who recognize my name know that these letters stand for music!
This website and I have begun a long-standing partnership entailing exclusive FFXIV/FFXI music for you to enjoy. These arrangements will premiere here at Beyond Vana'diel and be created specifically with this website in mind. That means there can be some participation on your part as a Beyond Vanadiel user!
Requests and comments will all be taken into consideration as long as they are done through the appropriate threads (and possibly future subform) here in the Site Exclusives section. How often do you get to tell the Bard what to play without backtalk?
Allow me to introduce my first three songs:
From Final Fantasy XIV:
ANTICIPATION
We all know that feeling. This song is dedicated to all the loyal Eorzeans who stare in longing at the application page, merging electronica build-up principals with a now familiar track. I hope this eases your burden ~ !
HORIZON
A mellow track dedicated to the adventures that await us, and the embers burning in our heart ever brighter as those days draw near. Taken from segments of the 2009/2010 trailers with additional harmonies added.
From Final Fantasy XI:
LUNAR WAKE
I hope this song does not strike you as the "Late To Campaigns Near Windurst" theme song. Being a loyal member of the Federation past and present, this theme is one of two associated with memorable characters like Lehko Habhoka and Robel-Akbel. This is my second rendition of the song, but also one of my personal favorite tracks in a long time. I hope you can enjoy it all the same, be you Windurstian or otherwise.
This project will be known as
Project Soul Voice
and can be found at the following URL:

To our new partnership, BV-ers,
Luso

Luso and I have been collaborating with one another for some time now about how to get this section going, what to include, etc. I'm proud to feature his work here on our site. He is very talented and I look forward to his future pieces.
NOTE: It says he posted this topic eight hours ago, but it only went live 10 minutes ago.
The "Project Soul Voice" section will be spiced up (and advertised) a bit later as well. Perhaps Momotaru will even draw an image for use at the top!
I hope everyone enjoys this. Stream it, download it and spread the word!

EDIT: I am using my iPod Touch, and when I click "download" it brings up a Quick Time video screen, but it then says "Cannot play - server not correctly configured". I guess I'll try accessing it when I am on the laptop tomorrow, as it may be my iPod which can't download it directly. I'm looking forward to listening to the available tracks, as well as future tracks bought to us by Project Soul Voice!

Yeah, there is a security system in place to block people from directly linking to our MP3 files and for whatever reason it also blocks Internet Explorer users from accessing the downloads. I could take it down, but then people could directly link to our MP3 files and people would have no reason to visit the site. Not to mention it would eat a lot of bandwidth.
I will try to find an alternative method, but in the meantime please use a different browser for downloading (e.g. Firefox, Google Chrome, Opera).
If there are any additional problems please let me know via PM or by posting a topic in our Site, Feedback, Assistance section!

I'm in the middle of wrapping up current musical endeavors (for this site!) and after that we can begin our magical journey into community composition... or something like that!
Also, I've been working on different vocal effects, vocoders, and over all voice-based technology. So this will not be a purely instrumental adventure ~ .

Never mind, I have decided to disable this security system for the time being. If things get out of hand I will find an alternative method of protection and/our restrict download capabilities to members only.

@Luso: My two favourite tracks that you have created so far are Anticipation and Lunar Wake, the latter of which is my favourite of the two. It adds a nice touch to it, while still maintaining that Final Fantasy feeling.

These are great! Good job. I agree with Kurisu about my favorite two tracks. The HORIZON track isn't really my style, but it's still good.
Can't wait to hear some more! These are going on my iPod.

I wanted to make a comment regarding some things about discrepancies in keeping the full soundtrack under wraps. In order to respect the Non-Disclosure Agreement across the board, I will only be mixing tracks as they are officially released through public mediums such as the website, Square Enix's Life in Eorzea videos, and trailers!
I'm currently working via some hilarious means to transcribe some more songs from FFXIV (singing every part of a song to myself and scoring it, which involves a lot of "Dun d-dun d-dun-dun-dun" in the name of art) and am mid-process on some FFXI songs.
If the open beta phase does not require a Non-Disclosure Agreement (set to be a few weeks before game launch based on the new interview information), you'll get songs that were prior beta-exclusive, but until then: No law-breaking!
Moral: Eagerly anticipate new songs!

First of all, welcome to the site/forum, Luso. It's great to see another member of the team here; I hope you enjoy your stay at BV.
Secondly, fantastic work! I like all three tracks but my favourites are: Horizon and Lunar Wake.
(Also going on my iPod) XD
Lunar Wake is definitely my favourite of the two, as I was part of the Federation. It's nice being able to hear both themes come through, particular favourites of mine. I'm a big fan of Windurstian music from towns to storyline themes, etc.
Once again, great work, Luso! Thanks for posting this. I look forward to hearing more.

Yes, of course, no mixing tracks that are floating around from the leaked OST. Fortunately, there are still a couple of songs for you to work with (as well as a large amount of FFXI songs, no doubt
I'm looking forward to seeing (err, hearing

I am currently in the "proof reading and editing" stages of the next few tracks. There will be more of an emphasis on Final Fantasy XI this time around. I am sorry that the tracks are not already-ready-already, but I got sidetracked on a vocal project reworking Serah's theme from Final Fantasy XIII. While it is "off-topic", I am more than happy to post on the site with the next update of "relevant" FFXI/FFXIV songs. It was a test for future vocal tracks, because there are several gems within Final Fantasy XI and XIV that feature vocals.
One of the things I wanted to say in general is how rich the Final Fantasy XIV soundtrack has been. That makes it slightly more challenging to approach in comparison to the score in Final Fantasy XI, but the results are overall very powerful. I don't think I can "choose a side", but I think that the atmosphere in Eorzea will be a very prosperous one due to Uematsu-san's hard work.
