Let's start a short and sweet/simple roleplay that anyone can jump into without feeling overwhelmed or as if they have to put too much thought into it. I do not wish to be the one who starts this roleplay (I have enough on my plate as it is!), but I thought it would be a good idea to create this topic to get the creative juices flowing. If anyone sees an idea they like, feel free to run with it and get something started.

That being said, let's hear some ideas! For example...

• A roleplay as our forum personalities. Imagine we are all meeting for coffee or going on some sort of trip or adventure. Anything like that could be a lot of fun and easy to get into since no one would be required to actually create a character.

I was also thinking some story that we can add to, a line or two at a time.

Anyone can control the events of the story, so naturally it can be a little silly, though you want to keep in some order or risk destroying it.

Not something as epic as the current FFVII roleplay going on now, but something you might have been able to make up during an afternoon when playing outside as a kid.

I was going to start a new thread but might aswell bump this one.

Is anyone interested in helping to keep this section alive? I will be starting a Roleplay in the coming weeks, but It won't be something everyone will be interested in as it's a huge story >_> But is anyone interested in starting/participation in a short roleplay?

It doesn't have to be anything serious and you dont have to be an amazing writer (all you really need is decent understanding of English and maybe a spell checker xD) If anyone has any ideas for a story (whether you wish to partake or not) just post it here and someone will eventually get the ball rolling.


Eorzea's (oddly familiar) Idea would be a great start. Would anyone like to do that?


If you start a roleplay yourself, you can make up it's rules.. if it's long/short posts, what kind of guidelines people must follow for their character, how the world works and so on.. Please just someone help me out =[ If you start one, I'll join =[

Hey, just joined the RP section. Val asked me if I could pitch in and I said I would. I was thinking for a short one that everyone can jump into easily would be like a murder mystery. Have the murder already happen with different evidence. Such as the time of death, location, weapon, etc... like a clue game. But have everyone's characters gathered and discussing their versions of the story. It won't require things like describing where we are at, or what the characters are seeing. It will only require a person to post what their character saw, react to other people's accusations, things like that. I could see the max size of a post being the one I'm typing right now

Good idea.. A murder mystery sounds fun. Any idea how we could organise that? Any thoughts into a location or scenario?

We could start off with a classic old mansion type idea. We should have a detective type character act as sort of a referee, keeping the facts straight. Then everyone else pick a character, a basic personality (think Clue), then we just start posting our sides of the story.

Example:

Butler says, "I was in the dining room at 8:15. Far away from the scene of the murder."

Nanny says, "I was in the dining room at 8:00 to 8:30 and I never saw you." that sort of thing. Wouldn't be difficult and people could just make it a little crazy, and fun.

could work like, everyone chooses a character and then the RP creator can PM each person a list of things their character did around the murder.. the creator could also tell the killer that they are the killer in secret and the rest of us could try and work it out xD I think something like the would need a little guideline for people to follow loosly so things dont get out of control and create alot of obvious inconsistencies

I think going the PM route would start to make things too complicated again. Simple simple simple! The murder mystery idea is great, but I don't think it's necessarily simple.

I think something like I suggested initially would work well, no? Or perhaps even take it up a notch and, for example, have a group of friends go somewhere such as an amusement park, a bar, etc. with (or without) a specific goal in mind. This kind or RP could be done either as our forum personalities or we could make a simple character creation/plot discussion thread and prepare accordingly. Should we go that route I think character descriptions should only be about a paragraph in length (i.e. very brief). Age, sex, and a quick summary of their personality.

That's what I'm thinking, anyway.

Maybe something along those lines but geared towards a get-to-know you type thing. Maybe I'll start it up, Eorzea. But it might be a few days. Everyone okay with that?
