I'm sure this video will be taken down shortly, but for as long as it lasts:

If you look closely, you'll see these three new disciplines listed when the player hovers over the "Disciples of the Hand" option.

What do you think?

I'm not exactly surprised to see Armorer and Goldsmith, but Carpenter? Sounds intriguing!

Hmm, Carpenter?

Ability: Carpet Burn! (fire damage to nearby enemies)

Seriously, though, what abilities could a carpenter possibly have? Interesting find, though! Hope we get more details soon.

I wonder what the "Hear...Feel...Think" is all about? One things for sure; I'm seriously considering being a Lalafell. The Marauder Lalafell in the character creation was so cute, and the ones in the pre rendered sequence are even cuter!

What the heck?

There goes my 5 class per discipline theory!

What exactly do you think any of these does? Armorer either repairs or can color customize armor.. Goldsmith... I'm not really sure... Carpenter.... Heh.. I haven't the faintest!

I wonder if Tanner and Armorer are two sides of the same coin, and deal with different types of materials. I would assume so for Blacksmith and Goldsmith, too.

What Carpenter can do, I can't imagine fitting into a revealed gameplay element. Carpenter implies more than just woodwork, but building, right?

I am assuming that a gold smith makes necklaces and rings while maybe a carpenter makes furniture or maybe even bows and arrows? Anyway I getting excited for this game but I know it is still months off so I better keep my shirt on lol.

I'm hoping the "Carpenter" discipline is indicative of possible housing units and the creation/use of furniture/etc.

I was thinking the same thing, but hey that means we might see more from the other classes too!

I like the sounds of Carpenter a lot. Really makes you wonder though, what role they will have.

Hammer n' Nails! Perhaps they can nail the enemy to the floor and keep them from moving while causing bleeding damage? XD

I... don't know how to respond to this. This really took me by surprise. I was entirely expecting 5 classes for each disciple...

Um... I'm also a little perplexed with the approach they seem to be taking with Hand classes. Everything they've revealed in respect to War and Magic classes has to do with taking a lot of ideas and stuffing them into fewer classes with the intent of making them more diverse.

However, Hand seems to be on the other end of the spectrum, with a lot of different classes taking on VERY specialized roles. I'm starting to hope they don't make the focuses of these classes TOO narrow, here.

It's simple really; They've taken the craft Woodworking and given it a job title. Instead of "Woodworker" you've got Carpenter. Woodworkers in FFXI made your bows, arrows, some fishing rods, and lots of Mog House furnishings. I see no reason why it'll be vastly different this time around.

General Carpenters do everything from furniture and cabinet making, to pouring concrete foundations, insulation, and even a bit of welding. But it generally means were reading blueprints and working with wood. The standard jobs are framing houses, fixing roofs, or building decks, gazebo's and outhouses. I doubt well see any construction in FFXIV but if your fishing rod breaks you'll know who to call.

Woodworkers, also made staves, clubs, mage weapons a bit, and with combination of other crafts, could make the bows. The arrows, and bolts for cross bolts. The rest was mentioned already.

[I got woodworking up pretty high in FFXI]
