Apparently these two disciplines have been found in the Final Fantasy XIV Alpha Test's DAT files [source]. ;)

  • Arcanist (ACN)
  • Mystic (MYS)

:onion54:

Thoughts?

What kind of spells/skills/etc. do you expect from these disciplines?

I'm hoping Mystic is like Mystic Knight from FF5, a sword wielding caster who can enhant his own weapons (and maybe others) with magical attributes such as fire and ice to do great damage to their enemies.

Arcanist, I don't know what to expect from that one. Perhaps it's a buffing class?

Hmm, this could work like the Vivi and Steiner duo in FFIX! Hopefully we'll here much more about this over the coming weeks and months, as it could lead to a very interesting battles :D

at last! something of possible other caster classes! i was getting to worried that they never considered more at launch. conjurer seams like a hybrid of magic and the Thaumaturge not pure damage, but debuff/buff. the Arcnist sounds like more of a damage dealer and mystic sound like that of a voodoo witch doctor so healer maybe

This to my sounds like the Herald in AoC. They where 2-h sword bearers in cloth armour that used all their spells through the sword.

Ohh noes, this means I may have to rethink my caster choice! That's okay more choices the better. Arcanist sounds like something I might be interested in, some kind of summoner? Or maybe deals with light and darkness magic?

Can't wait to know more. <(^_^)<

Hmm? This thread is about the Arcanist and Mystic classes. ^_^ There is a dedicated forum section for the Pugilist class at the following URL should you be interested in discussing it further:
http://www.beyondvan...um/43-pugilist/

I agree that Pugilist looks like a lot of fun!

By the way, welcome to the site/forum. Why not Introduce yourself?

Indeed. We already know that they're going to be releasing classes in version updates. It's not surprising to me that some of these .dat findings aren't available right away.
