I'm still sticking with my thought that these will be released , (along with others) and game start up . Square Enix has already stated multiple times that there will be more disciplines released at start up . i wish i could find the article but i'm getting ready for work right now and half asleep . So I'll look it up after i get back . Besides 7 Classes to fight with is NOT enough in my opinion . If you break down the types of races. There would be more races than classes

I don't think they've ever stated there will be more classes at launch. They've stated that there MIGHT be (and we got Goldsmith, Armorer, and Carpenter later on), but we recently got confirmation that the 18 we have now are the ones that will be at launch.

We have gotten multiple statements from them that they will be adding classes regularly post-launch though. Maybe you mistook something.

I think these classes are plenty to start with. FFXI only had 6 and it did just fine. Other MMO's have even less than that and never added more and they saw plenty of success.

If SE tried to handle TOO many classes at launch, they would be more prone to having balance issues. Let them work out and balance these for now. Once they know these work, then they can start adding more.

Assuming the possibility of advanced classes, an assumption I feel total baseless confidence in, we don't know just HOW many classes we'll have to play with.

besides, 7 is more than we had at the start of XI! (combat classes that is)

Companies like to stress the vagueness of datamined statistics, but from my experience they are usually about ~80% accurate. That being said we can assume with that same baseless confidence two advanced/soon to have magic classes to work with.

Arcanist evokes interesting possibilities in my mind... Warhammer online's runepriest's abilities come to mind. mostly the consumable buffs... perhaps we'll see the en- line of spells, but for others?

Its probably because I played a mystic for so long in EQ2 but I have trouble picturing them as anything other than a shaman/healer.
