Now that school is winding down and free time returning... it's RP time. I think Val has mentioned this RP before, though I've revised the information a bit... Any profiles can just be posted in this thread and I will add them to the character list as links. This is the discussion thread too~

Voyage Home

Story

Genre: Science Fiction

Story: It's been almost one year since the war began, and it looks like it would take a miracle to win. But the crew of the Avenir Assombri aren't the heroes who can turn the tide around. The ship is about to fall apart; the majority of the fighter ships it carried are now useless or destroyed altogether; ...and it feels too empty.

And now they're going home.

But they're returning with bad news, not to the celebration of victory everyone has looked forward to since the war began. Who knows what awaits them at home? Who knows if they’ll even make it home, with a ship in such disrepair? Will the enemy find and destroy them... or will conflict within the ship itself be their doom?

Home: Northbridge and Southbridge, a large cluster of human space colonies. Though the colonies are still relatively young, they have been prosperous enough to begin expanding.

The War: The public doesn't know too much about the cause of the war. They do know that a fleet under the Asurian Empire, a relatively small but ancient line of human nobility, attacked a primarily unpopulated planet the colonies recently acquired, killing a large number of workers. The obvious response was to fight back before the Asurians decided to attack anything else.

-----
Setting

The story takes place mostly aboard a 2nd class battle cruiser, the Avenir Assombri. The ship itself is in disrepair. Several of the guns mounted on the hull no longer function, including the main guns. In the hangar, there’s a small general shuttle and five remaining fighter ships in working condition. In all probability the ship would break down if pushed to its full speed; the hull simply can't take that kind of stress. Thankfully, most of the repair equipment has not been damaged, but it was meant for emergency repairs--and even if it's enough to repair the entire ship it would be quite a long endeavor. Due to the Avenir's condition, it is imperative that the ship avoid as much damage as possible.

Crew
As the Avenir's main function is interstellar warfare and the transportation of fighter ships rather than planetary invasion, most of the personnel on board the ship (though all are technically military-trained) are either pilots or hold technical positions, such as maintenance and communications-oriented occupations. There are also a number of service workers who are responsible for keeping everyones' day to day lives comfortable and officers who help to coordinate everything. There aren't many people on these kinds of ships who are soldiers specializing only in close-range combat. There are some for security reasons in case there are any "incidents," like stowaways, prisoners, and if the ship is boarded, etc. Still, since they are in the military, a large portion of the crew is considered as holding basic combat proficiency.

Character List

Areas of the ship:
  • Bridge
  • Tactical/war room
  • Computer mainframe and life support system room
  • Engine and maintenance rooms
  • Holding cells
  • Hangar
  • Cargo/storage area
  • Crew's quarters
  • Mess hall
  • Kitchen
  • Infirmary / sick bay / pharmacy
  • Simulation/entertainment room and lounge
  • Gym
  • Lots of hallways and corridors
  • Etc.

Certain areas have restricted access, and only relevant personnel may enter under normal circumstances. Sensitive areas such as the mainframe and the engine room normally require the appropriate passcard to open their doors. The system is offline at the moment due to technical difficulties (the other doors usually open automatically and... every once in a while they open on their own without anyone there... or don't open at all...), but according to ship protocol sensitive areas are still off-limits for anyone but the people in charge of them. It's not terribly enforced as there are other problems to deal with.

Most rooms have touchscreen and/or holographic computer monitors connected to the ship's intranet, Nehalem, from which they can send messages to other parts of the ship.

----------

Rules/Guidelines

VH is meant to be a relaxed, low maintenance/non-commital RP. The overall plot is fairly serious but there's plenty of room for comedy, romance, etc, it's basically whatever you make it. Though I appreciate it when people stick around the entire time, you don't have to. Since there are so many potential characters and events on such a large ship, you could drop in for just a few short posts to try out RPing. You don't even have to interact with other people (though interacting is usually the appeal of RP, and we make an effort to include everyone) if you don't want to either, as long as things stay consistent with the rest of the story.

Rules:
  • No god-modding, blah blah blah. It is okay to use other peoples' characters if you obtain permission from them and coordinate it properly with them. For instance, I will probably have Val or others use the Captain at times so we don't have to go back and forth in long conversations. If anyone leaves the RP or disappears, I reserve the right to move their character if it is crucial for a scene to end, though I will always try to get permission beforehand.
  • If you at some point decide not to continue with the RP please let me know and tell me if you want your characters written out of it, or if it is okay for me or the other RPers to use them further, etc. It's understandable if you're averse to letting others handle your creations, I just don't want the story to get stuck, so I'm asking in advance :)
  • If there are any problems come to me or Val.
  • I don't mind profanity in RP posts as long as it is used for effect and not insanely excessive. Keep content in line with BV's forum rules.
  • All the other usual rules about Mary Sues and whatnot.
  • Have fun! If you have a suggestion to make things more fun feel free to give it.

Profiles

Everyone on the Avenir is a human. Things like clones exist but tend to be looked down upon by the general populace. There may be tiny maintenance robots and such but the colonists like to know when humans are humans so they keep the designs fairly stylized. At first all characters (excluding characters from flashbacks and such) should be persons aboard the Avenir, but there will probably be an opportunity for others later.

Name: [Character's name.]
Age: [The minimum age for military personnel is 18 years. Higher-ranking officers will in most cases usually be older characters.]
Gender: [M/F/???]
Occupation/Rank: [I'll be honest, I don't know if a Lieutenant or a Colonel is higher, AH WHAT ABOUT LIEUTENANT COLONELS?! Val found a chart for me which you can see below. Focus on what function they serve on the ship, be it cook, janitor, navigator, guy who plays cards all day, etc.]
Skills: [ Cooking, janitorialing, playing cards all day, watching paint dry, anything you find relevant or worth mentioning. ]
Physical Description: [Hair, eyes, clothes, shoe size, etc, you don't have to be too descriptive. There is a uniform, but it’s not particularly enforced.]
Personality: [ Whether it’s a sentence or a page-long detailed psychoanalysis… ]
Belongings: [ Weapons and important personal belongings. Most weapons are kept in the armory, but typically military personnel are allowed to carry a single pistol with them even when off-duty. Some people break this rule and carry more, but even in the future these things get heavy. ]
History: [ Anything from their life story, to how they came to be in the military, how they were assigned to this particular ship, or what they had for breakfast yesterday. As little or as much as you like. ]
Comments: [ Any comments from the creator or the character him/herself. ]

Now to start some characters :D

Name: Simona Rissen

Age: 33

Gender: Female

Occupation/Rank: Captain

Skills: Negotiation, prioritizing, delegating, split-second decisions, operating with little to no sleep, the usual captain things.

Physical Description: Her hair is dark and wavy, though it is usually pulled back and held in place with a butterfly clip. She's starting to get some early strands of grey. Her eyes are blue and she is of average height and weight. It would be a miracle to see her dressed in anything but her uniform.

Personality: Though she can get quite heated up in the midst of battle, Simona usually looks composed. In the opinions of some she runs a very lax ship, though she does not typically fraternize with the crew. She defers to her subordinates' opinions more often than most people of her rank, and because of that she seems hesitant at times. However, she is very competent; if she is guilty of indecision it is usually about technical things her subordinates know more about because it is their job to know, and delegating some of the work traditionally reserved for the captain shows her confidence in her crew. More than anything she is deeply determined to carry out her mission and pushes herself and everyone around her as hard as possible in order to fulfill that wish. Her sheer determination to succeed at her goals has helped her do well at her current rank.

Belongings: A handgun or two, standard issue. And her captain hat of course. No one knows what else she might have stowed away in her personal quarters, there's some feminine mystique about her ;)

History: A military/tactical academy graduate. She was captain on another ship for a few years before the war began. The rumor is that she was quite an exceptional student.

Comments: Most people just call her the Captain or Rissen. She’s almost always on the bridge, and if she's not she can be found in her own quarters.

------

Name: Marianne Jasper

Age: 22ish.

Gender: Female

Occupation/Rank: I mostly do custodial work but I also help the mechanics with general things.

Skills: Cleaning... soldering... guessing what goes where, putting pieces together.

Physical Description: Messy, messy short black hair. I usually wear it down, sometimes in a side ponytail when it's in the way. I wear glasses because I can't stand contacts or eyedrops or any of that... but they're kind of hi-tech! You know, infrared mode kind of stuff. Feels fancy. They even have a calculator app but I don't know why I'd need that on glasses... My eyes are forest green (not that I've ever seen a real forest but it's what they tell me). I'm tall and too skinny. I wear basically whatever I have that’s not a uniform, especially things with lots of pockets. You never know what you might need to pick up and carry with you.

Personality: They say I'm quiet, but my mind is always racing. I think I'm becoming paranoid these days? Honestly, I'd rather keep my opinions to myself--it's impossible for me to change the world. If I said everything I think, I wonder how people would react. Heh. I tend to leave people alone. It's none of my business, even if what they do makes me roll my eyes in disbelief. I don't smile much. (Don't tell anyone, but I try my best not to smile. I look weird when I smile. I look goofy. My smile is very, very goofy. Even my smirks are goofy, no one would take me seriously anymore if I looked goofy. So… yeah.)

I daydream a lot while working. ...and while people are talking to me... so don't take it personally if I walk away while you're in the middle of trying to start a conversation, because I probably wasn't paying attention in the first place. I don't have much to say about the war, it's a sensitive subject and it's too late to do anything about it now.

Belongings: I keep a plasma rifle in my room... they weren't going to let me, but it's an old model and doesn't work. I'm trying to fix it in my spare time. They call that model the Messenger... what the hell does that mean? It sends a message of death and destruction to your targets, or teaches you to maintain your guns so they don't overheat so damn much? I have a pocket knife or two somewhere on my person, plus some other all-purpose tools. Other than that I don't have much in the way of personal artifacts.

History: From Southbridge colony. My dad always said that I could do better for myself than working in his scrapyard and I thought that signing up to be shipped out was it, was the kind of thing he was hinting I should do with myself... but I'm still doing the same things I did back home, just in a different, less comfortable place. My sight was too bad to train to be a pilot. Not that I mind anymore. At least I'm pretty good at this line of work. I don't really get what my dad meant to teach me, but it's too late to turn back and ask.

Comments: I forgot I had made her this antisocial/resigned in a way, but <3

Name: Dain Ashley

Age: I turned 23 the day Cpt. Rissen announced our retreat.

Gender: Male, of course.

Occupation/Rank: I am the Chief Navigator on-board the Avenir Assombri. I have two subordinates, but I forget their names. My job is to plot routes and to monitor and process the quality of positioning and activity data, amongst other roles. Given the nature of my job, it means that I am on shift at all times. I do my job to the best of my ability; if something were to go wrong, it would undoubtedly be due to the incompetence of my colleagues.

Skills: Staying calm in all circumstances and getting under peoples' skin.

Physical Description: I have longish blonde hair that I usually keep tied back to keep it neat and out of my face. My eyes are actually a shade of beige because of the experimental eye laser treatment I underwent when I was 14, following an accident that led to me being blind for a month or so. I got my sight back, but now I have to use special eye drops everyday for the rest of my life, which may not be too much longer now.

I am of average height and build and I refuse to wear the unsightly uniform no matter how many warnings they issue me. I usually wear comfortable grey jogging bottoms and a plain black vest. I will sometimes wear the standard uniform jacket if I feel cold, as it does not look quite as bad as the rest of the outfit.

Personality: I am rather cynical, I will not deny it. I say what I feel needs to be said and it does not really bother me if someone takes offence, because I never say anything with the intent to offend. Optimistic people tend to annoy me, so I usually go out of my way to avoid anyone with a smile; people who are able to smile with knowledge of our current situation are just not right in the skull.

I am also very much a morning person. However hard it may be to tell when morning is, I will still consider myself as such. It is the way I have always been. It may have something to do the fact that I rarely get more than 4 hours of sleep. My morning routine typically goes: wake up - get a shower – get dressed – walk around aimlessly whilst working on my Holo-Clip.

Belongings: Besides my clothing, the only possession I have is a digital clipboard with holographic output and wireless connection to the Nehalem. It is much more advanced than the standard issue Holo-Clips; mine was designed and built by my father shortly before his death- caused by illness. I do have its patent in my possession and I may, if we make it home, try to have it made the standard model. I do also carry a standard pistol. However, I will be honest: I have no idea how to use it.

History: I am from the Northbridge colony. Pretty average upbringing; Mother works in a café and my father was a weapons engineer for the military before his illness. He also invented new -and improved old- gadgets as a hobby. The reason I joined this war, I just cannot recall, it was a while ago. I know there was a reason, but it is not important now; I'm here to do a job so I am just going to do it to the best of my ability.

Name: Maxxie

Age: 19

Gender: Male

Occupation/Rank: Sous-Chef

Skills: I guess you can count cooking as a skill. I'm pretty good at gambling as well.

Physical Description: I'm 5'6'', shorter that most, but I make up for it in many ways~ Trust me *wink*. I've got blue eyes and a shaved head and I consider myself to be pretty good lookin'. What else? Oh yeah, I got this little scar on my upper lip towards the right side of my mouth. I've had it years and it don't bother me no more~ It kinda adds to the sex appeal, heh. Though I'm only a Sous-Chef, I still like to stay in shape as you never know when we might be in trouble and Captain needs my help! I spend a couple hours every other day in the on-board gym just working out and having a laugh with the lads!
I usually just wear my chefs uniform, since I have 11 sets of it, heh! It's different from the standard uniform, for a start it doesn't look so damn goofy. The trousers are a bit tight for my likin', but they're not that bad~ Plain black in colour. Then there's the plain black, short sleeve shirt and the jacket~ that seems tight around the waist but loose everywhere else~ is black around the shoulders and sleeves, but white down the front, sides and lower back. I also wear a plain white neckerchief that shows I'm the Sous-Chef on this vessel. The Executive Chef's is black and white chequered, he also gets a cool chef's bandanna... I really hate that bastard.

Personality:I'm just a typical guy really... A lad's lad! I like chillin' with the guys, women~ of course, and the idea of shooting down some Asurian scum makes me tingle in naughty places! I'll be honest, a lot of what I say to the lads in the gym is usually an act. I guess I can be a little insecure around the soldiers so I think I have to try harder to impress them... They spend most of the day carrying guns, whereas I have spoons, forks and only a few decent knifes.... and a whisk!

My biggest passion is gambling! The thrill it gives me, no woman could achieve! I admit I have a problem, but if I can get away from who ever I owe money, then there is no problem~ for me anyway *wink*. Don't get me wrong, I still love women! Particularly Captain Rissen~ she is my kind of lady~

Belongings: In my room I have a closet filled with my uniforms~ I like a wide option of things to wear, even if they all look exactly the same. I also have a drawer full of porn, but don't tell anyone about that! I have one of those weird clipboards where the image jumps out of it, but I have no idea how to turn it on... I don't really like technology. I have some clippers, which I use to shave my head every other morning. One thing that I carry with me at all times is my lucky silver coin. It's a chunky little coin with a nice bit of weight to it, made from solid silver. It's pretty plain on both sides, but I look to it when I need advice ~ On one side it has the word “Fold” inscripted into it, and on the other side, “Bluff”. Also, all along the edge of the coin it says “Risk it!”~ Pretty awesome, heh?

History: To keep it short and sweet, I joined the military because I owed a lot of people money. I changed my name and signed up; I had planned to stay a couple of years then go home and keep my head low. How was I to know a war was about to start, seriously! That really took the the biscuit, it did. Even if I had just took a beatin', I would have fully healed and been back up to my usual tricks by now! How I became the Sous-Chef~~ I would rather not go into that.

Comments:

Panda, I love the idea of this Roleplay, thank you for starting it! So much could happen, I really can't wait to get started! I hope more people appreciate what you've started and decide to join!

Wow, this is the first time I've made a cocky, vein ladies man xD and bald as well!! This will be interesting for me to play a character that is opposite to me in every way xD ( actually... I'm short as well >_> ) Maybe he has little man syndrome as well xD)

Thanks for the profiles guys :) I will do a couple more hopefully...

Talking to Val made me decide to explain the story a little more concretely. For the most part it will deal with various problems (malfunctioning on the ship, disagreements, encounters with other groups, whatever) that crop up as the ship travels home and how we solve them (plus general interaction). This could pretty much go on forever if we wanted, but we can decide as a group when it seems to be winding down / when everyone's characters have gotten a good amount of personal focus and then we can (probably) let them reach home to close up the story...

That's not much more concrete is it XD~

I'll try to throw in situations that are interesting and/or relevant to the characters but you guys can feel free to introduce such things as well. If it's really major maybe run it by me first but I'm usually up for just about anything ;)

LOL, I googled voyage home and The Voyage Home is apparently the title of one of the Star Trek movies. Um... XD

Very impressive, everyone! I wish I could join, but I don't think I'll find the time.

But I might check out the really simple roleplay that was being discussed earlier.. Did that begin to happen yet?

Thank you <3

As for the simple/short one, no, no one started it yet. I'll ask Val if he planned on doing anything more specific than Eorzea's initial suggestion next time I hear from him. We'll probably set something up real quick since there's some interest in it. (or well anyone else could first if they wanted, but yeah)

Name: Alan J. Wiser

Age: 19

Gender: Male

Occupation/Rank: I work on repairs for the fighter ships and I also do small check-ups on areas I'm assigned over to make sure that the whole ship doesn't fall apart. Though...I would whether be a fighter plane pilot.

Skills: I guess I'm good with mechanics...oh, and I sorta whittle (no one really knows that though).

Physical Description: I'm 5'8, last time I checked, and average looks probably. I have murky brown eyes and trimmed black hair that I usually keep slicked back. I'm sort of scrawny, though I'm trying to get a little more muscle by going to the gym occasionally. Overall, I probably look like a loser, I'm working on that though.

I also wear the uniform because I don't have anything else to wear, which is probably why I'm not that popular. Though, I keep the jacket open and sometimes I don't wear it at all to avoid being made fun of about it.

Personality: I don't think I connect well with the people on this ship, though I try and I think sometimes too hard. I usually make a situation awkward or try to make a joke and somehow fail in the process. I also tend to say the wrong thing to the wrong people or insult someone on accident even though I was trying to compliment them. Though, I'm pretty confident in my skills and sometimes in skills I don't have...but that's because I know I can learn quickly! Now, if only they gave me the chance to try to fly...

Oh, and compared to most of the guys on the ship I'm quiet, though I do try to talk. It's just that people don't like listen to what I have to say because apparently I'm naive or not cool. I don't understand why and I don't think I ever will.

Belongings: I have a small knife I carry around in my boot, a knife I use to whittle, and a small handgun that I'm sure I'll probably never use. I also have this odd stuffed creature that my sister gave me before I left and that stays hidden. I don't have that many clothes and the majority of it is the ship's uniform. I also have a small pile of wood that I mostly got from home, but I was able to get a few scraps of wood from crates on the ship.

History: I'm from Northbridge where I grew up with my Uncle Mark, Auntie Carol, and my blind younger sister Selia. My Auntie is a teacher and my Uncle runs a restaurant. First off, I won't lie, I mostly joined the military cause I had no idea what to do with my life. Now, I would love to be a fighter plane pilot. I have a few ideas about flying and my Uncle told me my father used to be one himself. So, I have flying in my blood.

Comments: Be nice to him (not).

----------------
Name: Lei Bradly

Age: 23

Gender: I'm a woman, though as a little kid I was usually mistaken as a little boy.

Occupation/Rank: I work as a communications officer and very closely with the Captain. I send out messages to different parts of the ship and I'm usually one of the first to hear where the ship is headed and our current situation.

Skills: I know the latest technology pretty well (though call me a geek and I'll kill you). I'm also okay with weaponry, though I doubt I'll ever have to use any of those skills being a communications officer.

Physical Description: I have a very slim physique and I'm fine with that, I guess. I like to keep my dark hair short and spiked that way it keeps out of the way of my sight and it's easier to take care of. Some say I have strikingly green eyes. I am about 5'5, average height I think.

I like to wear loose fitting, comfortable clothe. Usually something completely out of uniform (which is, in my opinion, a really stupid looking uniform),but nothing bright and eye catching. Though, if there's a special occasion I wear my uniform without any question. I never wear any sort of skirt or dress unless I'm required to, either.

Personality: I'm generally laid back. I have a few female friends on the ship. I hang out with the men on the ship more often, and I believe the majority of them don't mind. I get along with everyone for the most part. I have a bit of an attitude, I'll admit, and one person said that I had "spunk". I generally don't care about others' opinions of me, though.

I'm easily irritated and I don't have much patients for those who take their time with things, especially if it's important to get a task done right away. I spend most of my day on my shift in communications, which keeps me somewhat occupied. Other than that I'm hanging out, in my room keeping to myself, or trying to figure out more about how the ship runs. I love talking about the latest technology over anything else, too.

Belongings: I have quite a few pieces of technology---old and new--but my favorite and most used is my contacts that are kind of new and sort of an upgrade from glasses version that can perform tasks like most holographic computer. They were given to me just before I was shipped out to the war by a close friend ('cause I know I would never be able to afford them myself). I think they're pretty cool and I'm still trying to figure out how to work them. I have a small amount of clothing and two sets of uniforms. I also have a standard handgun and that's pretty much it.

History: I grew up as an orphan in an orphanage in Southbridge. Though, it wasn't some horrible life growing up in one or anything. I did a lot of odd jobs to get technology for myself, though most of it was usually outdated until i made a good friend that I owe a lot to. I joined the military because I thought it would be cool. Plus, working as some waitress or any other jobs offered at home didn't seem right to me. So, here I am.

Comments: Don't call her Lei-Lei. Or Ms. Bradly unless your a higher ranking officer.

I'm really looking forward to posting and all that. Feel free to tell me if I'm getting out of line or something. >_<

Thanks V! I don't think you'd get out of line. Will tell you if you do but I'm not sure how you mean it, anyhow don't worry about it. ;) If you end up needing a suggestion on how to come in, you know where to find me!

Forgive me, this is my first time doing RP. Val asked me to join. I'll pitch in as I can :) Anyone with RP experience, feel free to pop in a message to me if you feel I need some guidance. Otherwise, I'll just wing it lol

Name: Tobias Palmer

Age: 23

Gender: Male

Occupation/Rank: Since it's a ship full of maintenance guys and such, I figured I'd pick that. Actual occupation is Engineer. Sure, general maintenance of the ship, ship functions, and fighter repair is the norm. I wasn't wanting a high rank (unless we need characters to do so).

Skills: Let's say I'm a laser expert. I make sure our lasers continue to go pew pew.

Physical Description: 5'10, in fairly good shape. Spikey blonde hair. Not like... cloud strife spiky. Just your typical 23 year old spiky hair.
I wear typical uniform. Though I'll loosen it against regulations because I like to work with my hands and get right in there. Often leaves me kind of hot, so I roll up my sleeves and unbutton a few buttons.

Personality: I sound like a country bumpkin. You wouldn't think I have the brains that I do. Which makes it easy for me to make friends, no one gets intimidated by me, unless they get into a battle of wits. Then they'll get frustrated or dumb founded. But I keep that to myself mostly. I have a way of appearing simple, which can also be humorous.

Belongings: I keep a locket that's attached to the bottom part of my uniform. I don't talk about it, no one asks about it.

History: I come from a long line of engineers. That's why I became one. It wasn't a typical story of being forced to do what my daddy did. It's been done in my family for a long time, so naturally I went for it. I never questioned it or thought I could do something else. My family never pushed me to it, they pushed me to be what I wanted to be. I picked up my daddy's habit of taking things apart, seeing how they work, then putting them back together again better than before.

That was a nice post, especially for your first time. Good to have you with us. :)

I actually haven't been watching/reading any scifi-ish things lately (...and yet I wanted to do scifi...) so I've been failing at coming up with technical ship details... so I'm exceedingly happy.

I may have to ask for help for that kind of thing... xD

Thanks :)

I'll be honest, I actually work with lasers at my work, so I took some liberties lol. I'm not very good at technical things either :) I figured it'd be part of the fun to make it all up.

Name: Terran Morroth

Age: 27

Gender: Male

Occupation/Rank: Lt. Commander

Skills: I am a pilot, nothing more nothing less. I do what needs doing because no one else seems capable of it.

Physical Description: A full 6’, and of an average build. I keep myself clean, sometimes unusually so. Freshly washed and pressed uniforms, everything in top order. I get a haircut every other week and it’s always the same. Black, about an inch long on top, closely cut on the sides.
My eyes are a deep blue, or rather, my real right eye is. I lost the other one long ago in a battle with some spacers. Doctors patched me up and now I have a cybernetic replacement. It’s an odd gold color- apparently they hadn’t quite mastered the 3rd grade art of coloring… Oh well… It gives me an edge as a pilot, being able to see into the more distant edges of the spectrum.

Personality: I am told I’m charismatic. Easy to talk to and easy to trust. I’m getting good at reading people, you know- what they’re thinking, what they want. I have friends in the highest of places and the lowest of places- I’ve been called “manipulative” in the past, but really, I just know how to get what I want. Funny how life works out.

Belongings: The handful of uniforms and a few knives are about all I have with me. Well, aside from a sizeable collection of holo-games (admittedly my one major vice). I'm a fan of some of the older fantasy games, you know the ones where you are a big-eyed kid with an even bigger sword? Then you go around beating up the bad guys who somehow always carry around loot. Heh… I never had any of this stuff as a kid… so I guess now I'm making up for lost time.

History: Born in space, raised in space, came to Southbridge when I was about 12. My parents were both in the military, and I followed suit. Other than that, there is little of my life’s story to tell.

Comments:
A new take on an old character… maybe ill be able to get back into RP now xD

Name: Kimber Estillie

Age: 31 I think... Yeah, that sounds about right.

Gender: Male

Occupation/Rank: I was a fighter pilot for the Asurian Empire, but I was captured and imprisoned in the holding cell of the Avenir Assombri. I've been here a couple of weeks now. The stupid wardens have yet to figure out that I can speak and understand English; I can't wait to see their faces when they realise I've heard everything they have said about me...

Skills: I'm trained in hand to hand combat and I speak several languages including English, Malekian, Asurian and Rusterian. I can also pilot and keep maintenance on fighter ships. In the Asurian empire, training starts at a very young age, we are raised to be monsters.

Physical Description: My skin is naturally tanned since the Asurian empire is so warm, and my hair is straight and dark, hanging just past my shoulders; it gets in my face a lot. I'm 6'2" and I've trained my body for many years to be strong. My muscles are proof of my efforts. When I became prisoner upon this vessel, my clothes where taken from me and now all I have to hide my modesty are plain black trousers and a white vest, covered with maroon coloured overalls, which I usually wear with the upper part tied round my waist.

Personality: I believe in many traditional values. Women should be treated with respect, and be protected by the men. I remain silent in most situations, it's how I was trained to be. Those from the colonies confuse me, they seem to want to talk about everything. Talking is useless, actions speak louder~

Belongings: All of my belongings were taken from me.

History: I was raised and trained in the Asurian empire to be a killer... a weapon.

Comments:
It might seem odd that someone that has been trained as extensively as I have could be captured so easily and held prisoner on such a vessel, with incompetent wardens that haven't even realised the power supply that was keeping the holding cells doors lock has cut out... But this is all a part of my secret mission. First, I must gain trust by making myself useful.
